On Saturday, the 6th of July 2024, we hosted developers for the finale of the maiden edition of our developer hackathon, #HackOps1. We definitely took “Less talk, show workings” a little too seriously 😂. The aim was to demonstrate the wide range of applications possible on PipeOps and challenge developers to build for productivity, encouraging the hacker culture in the tech ecosystem. After completing an intense 5-day virtual hackathon, with 85 projects submitted, our judges selected the top 25 projects, we then invited the teams for the final Hack Day and Pitching Event, giving them a chance to compete for the hackathon grand prize. We are saying a big thank you to everyone who played a part in making this a success—the participants, judges, guests, volunteers, and partners. V. Our Managing Counsel, Abdullateef Olasubomi Abdul (CIPP/C, MCIArb, ACTI) along with Associates Peter Akpu and Sikirat Gavo , recently attended an arbitration seminar organized by the YIAG (Young International Arbitration Group) at The George Hotel, Lugard Avenue, Lagos State, Nigeria. The guest presenter, Funke Adekoya SAN, delivered extensive remarks on strategies for young arbitration practitioners to distinguish themselves and establish their roles as active contributors in the arbitration sphere. Her insights shed light on crucial ways to position oneself effectively in the global arbitration landscape. The event also provided a platform for engaging discussions through open questions and answers, addressing pertinent issues and challenges encountered by African practitioners within the global arbitration community.
