Dear all, I don't know how to write a long story about myself. Hmmm actually as you all know that I'm selling cookies and many other stuffs. I earn a living by selling things such as cookies, stickers, customised key chain etc. My income only comes in when there's people buy myself cookies etc. If nobody buys, i don't have any income. Many people ask me do i get any government aids? Yes I did but to be honest it's not enough for me to cover my daily expenses such as buy food, pay bill, pay house rent etc. Therefore I need to work hard everyday. I even sacrificed my sleep, my meals (cause I don't have any income). Im currently stuck at buying the carton boxes which i used it to put the cookies to be posted and the carton boxes cost around rm 50 (cause I need to buy alot) I attached here a few things I sell. Alcohol in skincare and makeup is HARAM? Oh my God... is this true? I can't believe it... Read below the facts from KL: Skincare and makeup formulation is a scientific field that involves various ingredients from various sources such as plants, animals, and also synthetically produced materials. In general, each ingredient is selected for its specific function that is important in producing effective, stable, and suitable formulations for users. One of the ingredients commonly used in skincare and makeup formulations is alcohol. What is alcohol and why is it used in cosmetic products? Alcohol is a solvent or a dissolving agent produced either synthetically or from plant sources. Most alcohols used in the industry are synthetic, but alcohol processed from plants is now widely used in cosmetics. Basically, alcohol is a compound containing Carbon (C) with an oxygen-hydrogen (-OH) hydroxyl group. It has a short carbon chain. Therefore, it has a light and liquid-like water, but very easily evaporates and disperses into the environment. Due to these properties, Ethyl Alcohol is widely used in cosmetic formulations that require rapid absorption. In the naming of cosmetic ingredients or INCI, it is written as Alcohol Denat., or SD Alcohol (Specially Denatured Alcohol). Denatured Alcohol is alcohol that has been altered to become toxic and can no longer be consumed by the addition of denaturing agents that denature the alcohol. Therefore, The National Fatwa Council has declared that the use of alcohol as a solvent is permissible if the alcohol is not produced from the process of making alcohol. We’ve done that quite well globally. But yes, this subset of our Global Sector has changed. Yes----PT revenues have dropped>>>not just in terms of gross income but also in terms of net income. This has impacted Owners/Operators/Managers/Personal Trainers and potential & actual customers. Yes---The life span of a non-entrepreneurial Personal trainer has dropped to the point that they leave our Sector within 3-6 months, if they last that long. This high failure rate as a Non-Entrepreneur, occurs, thru no fault of their own, because they have defined & positioned their businesses in 1 of 5 ways: 1. They are Selling Their Credentials. 2. Free coffee always tastes better than a paid one. “Kopi O kampung” is truly the best coffee. What more when you get it free. But free normally means standard. You don't have choices like adding milk or almond flavor. The same goes for apps and tools. With freemium, the free plan comes with standard and limited features. If you want more, pay for premium plans. That said, you can still use the free plan to help you build your personal brand or business. Like here on LinkedIn I use the standard free membership and still excel. For AI, I use the free version of chatGPT. I can still be on top of the world with all these free tools. Anxiety can take many forms, and one of them is 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒙𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒚. Did I believe it existed? Not at first. My journey began 15 years ago when I was 25, with just RM5k in my bank account and a laptop as my only companion. I launched my PR agency with no clients and no background in the field. Was it terrifying? Absolutely. I was overwhelmed with fear—fear of running out of resources, of not finding clients, of rejection. Would it mean I was a failure? The uncertainties were countless. But deep down, I knew I couldn’t give up. So, I took time to reflect and understand the roots of my fears. I focused on what I could control and learned to accept what I couldn’t. I started meditating, prioritising my goals, and adapting to the changes life threw at me, just like the pandemic. I took things one step at a time, at my own pace. And no matter how small the victories, I celebrated each one with gratitude. Remember to stay motivated and celebrate your progress. No matter how small, every step forward is a win. Are you defined by your work? I hope not. In a meritocratic society like Singapore, we sometimes become obsessed with progress in our careers. When I first started Grow Public Relations, work consumed a large part of me. Every business owner knows that running a business can be alot.. especially in the early years. Last year, my husband who also runs Grow PR alongside me said "your life is now basically just work and being a mum. There's nothing else. You talk about work all the time. It may not be a very healthy obsession." This hit me hard because it was true. I know I'm driven by a need to improve and grow the business but I think there's a fine line between seeking continuous improvement and being obsessed with the need to progress. While the desire for progress is beneficial, we must ask: to what end? At what point does it become detrimental? 😩 You missed an email. 😩 You didn't hit a certain KPI. 😩 You didn't perform up to certain expectations. This eats all of us up sometimes. But, its really not life or death. It's unlikely that you would even think about this on your deathbed. These days, I'm learning to not let myself be too  affected with how the business performs. Some of these things that affect us are also often beyond our control. A great month financially is beyond my control. A terrible month financially is also beyond my control. In a world where entrepreneurs are quick to define themselves as 7, 8 or 9 figure business owners, I try to remind myself that my value isn't tied to my business’s balance sheet. What an eventful two months! ✌️ (1) Increased sales volume for two months continously. In addition to that, trained ElitezMMA sales staff to garner basic skill and confidence in tackling sales transaction as well as systemise sales tracking. 📊 (2) Personal sales aim achieved! ✅ (3) Last but not least, my first Debut Boxer project (from basics to competing boxer) within 3 months is a success! My boxer won his first match by TKO, 3rd round. 🥊 Irregular hours became a norm to achieve above. Weekends had become the new weekdays for me to lead ElitezMMA fight team in addition to polishing ElitezMMA sales run. Just need to break that fallacy where we are up for weekdays only. Just like a boxing match, we need to keep ourselves open to adapting even for a split second. Although, being agile alone is not enough to navigate uncertainty. Reading, listening to meaningful podcasts etc. will assist in your impromptu. Similar to boxing I suppose - no escaping from running, sparring and more. Keep yourself loose and ready to be at a different angle to attack - career and boxing! 🔥

"I need help. Pantry benefit for the staff is costing us hundreds of thousands annually due to abuse.." The first call received on Aidiladha Monday morning and Mr. H was referred by a friend in Seremban when he was looking for vending machine that can be integrated with RFID tag of their staff. As their business deals with European clients primarily, ESG is at the centre of their business' compliance exercise. Hence pantry supplies benefit as part of employee welfare initiative is practiced. However, as in all other potential benefits, they're also subject to abuse and in this case, it costs quite a substantial in comparison with what I usually hear too from some of their other HR practitioners of manufacturing companies I've come in contact with. They employ more than 300 employees and if everyone just took another RM100 more of the pantry supplies away (back home or consume in excess) every month, that's at least RM30,000 and in their case, definitely much more than the figure. They can't limit transactions from each staff, just full visibility on supplies taken and consumed by the staff - and that could already be an auto-deterrent for any employee to take something in moderation as they will be recorded as entry. And that essentially what vending machines can do these days. Integrated with RFID employee ID cards and they just work wonders as all data are captured and monitored at real time, 24/7. Just like that, we're glad to be part of the solution provider for this problem and potentially put a quarter to half a million ringgit of savings back to the company for other uses. Have you encountered similar issue with abuse from the employees on pantry supplies? Have you faced with situation where you're just about to step in to the pantry to get a nice simple breakfast, only to find the tray empty? Time to do something intelligent with a nice interactive machine at the pantry.
