Totally agree, these AI checkers have zero credibility. I have frequently faced this problem in my content writing journey. Ever since AI or ChatGPT came into existence, every person assumes that most writers use AI. For sure, there are a few bad apples but you cannot give such a sweeping statement without fact checking first. Grammarly makes the human content appear as AI, because of its extremely robotic suggestion system. I would recommend my fellow writers to use Grammarly for only rooting out grammatical mistakes or spelling errors. When it comes to other stuff like rephrasing recommendations just ignore them altogether.

Some time ago, a friend asked me, "How do you handle multiple writing projects and still meet up with deadlines?" That question hit me hard because I wasn't always like this. I remember back then, managing lots of writing tasks used to really get to me. It was so tough. Each new project felt like a heavy burden, almost too much to bear. There were times I wanted to give up or say no to more work. But over time, things changed. I have figured out how to handle this challenge better. First off, I prioritize. When I have a bunch of projects, I look at which ones have the closest deadlines and focus on those first. Then, I set realistic goals. I break down each project into smaller tasks and set goals that I know I can achieve. I don't overwhelm myself with goals that are too big or impossible to reach. It's all about setting myself up for success. Next, I make a schedule. I write down exactly when I'm going to work on each project, including time for research and writing. Having a clear plan keeps me focused on my goal. Then, I minimize distractions. When it's time to write, I make sure to eliminate anything that might pull my attention away. I try as much as possible to create the right environment that helps me achieve my writing goals at the due time. So, yesterday has more or less proven that if I talk about current events (specifically what is going on in West Asia) on Facebook…basically my entire network ignores the post…I had a dozen or so people like the post on Instagram (no one commented…but that was because I’d turned off commenting on the post)… I wrote the following paragraph on Instagram this morning (not that many of my ‘silent’ connections will read it): Why…oh, why is everyone still f*cking silent? Do you not care…or are you ‘scared’ of losing something (money, a job, a partnership with a company)…what? You do realize that you can’t take any of that f*cking stuff with you when you die, right? I’m sure that there are a small number of people talking about things in-person…but I’m beyond sickened & saddened at how quiet people have been…people I’ve known for decades (or possibly my entire life) online…your silence can be considered complicity…your silence means you’re “okay” with an entire group of people being systematically murdered. If it wasn’t for a character limit, I would have added: You’re gearing up for vacations, weekends at the lake…while in West Asia—they’re struggling to make it through the day…and if they die…they hope they die in one piece. Again…you can’t take the job, money, partnerships, cars, vacations, or any of that stuff with you when you die…and when you do have to ‘answer’ for what you did during this time—what’s your answer going to be? Because—I hate to tell you but ‘prayers and thoughts’ aren’t doing much good for anyone anywhere in the world. Action is needed…action to push for a permanent ceasefire…an end to the apartheid..an end to the illegal arrests & detentions…action to force the occupiers out…and to help the Palestinians rebuild Gaza. #MyViews #NotSorry #IStandWithHumanity

While the whole AI hype has really shaken up the freelance writing scene for us freelance writers, I also think it’s been quite tough on content agencies… I say this since I’ve worked (and still do) with more than a few myself. Just from what I’ve seen (these are all my own observations, not “facts” by any means), agencies have had to get pretty creative to stay afloat & relevant with all this AI stuff going on. Tbh, it’s been fascinating & impressive to see how quickly they’ve adapted to all of it, and I think it’s worth sharing some of the clever ideas that they’ve come up with👇🏻: ⤷ They’ve started creating their own internal AI tools (some of which are pretty robust!) ⤷They've introduced an additional service where AI helps with the writing, but humans do the editing, making it cheaper than fully human-written content (and ofc, trained writers on how to edit AI content in the process) ⤷They've gone to great lengths to reassure clients that their content is human-written (like providing Google Doc histories, promising certain AI detector scores, and having writers use time-tracking tools that take random screenshots as they write)* ⤷They've shifted their clients’ content strategies away from content that relies 100% on the SERPs to more “journalistic” type of content that AI can't replicate. ⤷They’ve expanded their services beyond just content writing to offer a full package that’s hard for businesses to resist (and harder for an AI tool to offer) *I don’t personally endorse this strategy by any means & have rejected to be part of it as a writer. But, still, I understand the reasoning behind it & respect it 100% – you have to do what you have to do. 💡 But what’s been very interesting to see is how diverse their strategies are! → Some are finding ways to integrate AI into their services while still holding onto their core offering of human-written content. → Others are narrowing their focus to cater specifically to those who value the human touch. And yes, believe it or not, there's a very solid market for that! → Some others are rethinking their entire business model, shifting from a content-centric approach to a more holistic marketing focus. Remember in the 90s, when email enjoyed mass adoption? It was touted as "a way to streamline communication." In reality, all it did was put more pressure on already busy people by increasing the expectation of faster communication. And don't even get me started about what happened when it got integrated into the small electronic bricks we carry in our pockets. ("No, I'm not going to reply to the email you sent me at 2am on Sunday. But thanks for the follow-up you sent on WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger...") Fast forward 30 years and Gen AI is being hailed as "the ultimate productivity tool. Taking on low-value tasks, freeing humans to focus on higher-value stuff, like being creative." Sound familiar? History has a way of repeating itself, and the mass adoption of Gen AI is no different. Deadlines are shorter, output is expected to be higher without sacrificing quality... In the meantime, I'm still waiting for all this free time I'm supposed to have gained. Don't get me wrong: Gen AI is an amazing tool. But much like email, it hasn't delivered the "streamlining" that its marketing promised. All it's done is catapult the expectation of productivity to higher levels. Have you found the same thing?
