IMDA has launched the first AI Playbook for Small States, in collaboration with Rwanda’s Ministry of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Innovation. It was unveiled by Minister for Digital Development and Information, Mrs Josephine Teo at the United Nations Summit of the Future. Developed through the Digital Forum for Small States, which Singapore convenes, the Playbook is aimed at driving inclusive global AI discourse, offering guidance and best practices tailored to the unique needs of smaller nations in harnessing AI's potential. As a key player on the global stage, we are proud to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through this initiative, together with Rwanda. This playbook is a living resource that will be periodically updated, gathering insights and best practices from small states around the world. Local Hawkers in Commerce and TNC's and MNC's Contrast There are local and foreign agencies, that are directly linked, with the greater good services and outcome. This in fact is a local and global trend, in pursuing enterprise and other forms of consumer oriented competitive advantage. The local hawker's involvement in business 😎 and commerce, vouches for the collateral impacts, of behavioural attitudinal cross cutting impacts and values. It warrants indepth assessment and analysis, to circumvent and understanding it's local outsourcing involvement and operations. Apart from the Visama Rice Mill and Ajesh Chand's micro dairy cultured food industry, the other food procurement and production plants, were a thriving force, for consideration. A spreadsheet of such features includes, the National Marketting Authority(NMA), Goodman Fielder, Wing Zoing Wah, Land Transportation industry, Rewa Rice Ltd, assorted perfumes and cosmetics, marine life, cultural creative work, dairy milk produce etc, etc. Apparently while the strategic involvement of the states executive positions, with the Rewa Rice Ltd, land transportation industry cannot be overlooked, it's harmful effects on the grassroots hawker business setbacks, is indeed critical. As an illustration, the states monopolization of the local economy, disadvantaged the local hawker bus 🚌 services, by making bold 😀 allowances, for a joint amalgamated corporate public utility services. Rewa Rice Limited ( RRL) and the National Marketting Authority (NMA), acted as liquidating agency, for the incoming Goodman Fielder corporate brand enterprise, in which the local hawker's involvement were disadvantaged. This in fact was the reason among other things, that led to my social distancing, of the Rewa Rice Ltd, while pursuing with the APO assignment. The startup theory and rationales, is still 🔥 in it's infancy stage, in situations where the states continue to manipulate and assert, it's interests, on things which are best handled, at the grassroots. As an illustration, the Goodman Fielder current services, especially it's further associated involvement, with the Aussie based Wilmah, is in the hands of the TNC'S and MNC'S. Terms and terminologies used by the TNC'S and MNC'S, such as game changer, artificial intelligence( AI), corporatization etc, etc, are becoming memories and forces to be reckoned with simultaneously. They correspond with Benedict Anderson's views of imagined communities and it's hegemonic revolutionary humane crisis. Such forms of authoritative subjectivity and supremacists, are a major stumbling blocks 🚫 for locals, especially the most vulnerable and endangered.

Idiotopedia Lite: (Opinion) The Art of Complications https://lnkd.in/gwnfDMFt Disclaimer: These are my personal opinions on recent econophysics studies; they encourage thought, not recommendations. When I read this article on the manufacturing PMI fall on CNBC Indonesia, I think in nerdy way through the lens of econophysics, a new area that combines physics and economics to figure out why markets are so unstable. Econophysics argues chaos is unavoidable, yet classical economics suggests stability measures. Understanding and overcoming it is harder than avoiding it. In my previous Idiotopedia article, I shared how entropy influences economic anarchy. Entropy measures system unpredictability (see from the presentation). Increasing skepticism in Indonesia's manufacturing sector increases entropy. The economy becomes unstable and yes, investors seek "safe" havens. Logically, capital leaves places projected to lose value, worsening the economic mismatch. Another key idea in econophysics is capital accumulation and power law distribution. It depicts how unorganized areas gain resources and income. I mentioned the power law distribution, which demonstrates that capital flows to safe, high-growth industries and away from manufacturing. This imbalance worsens inequality over time. Choosing adaptability over stability instead Indonesia might be better off with policies that work with its naturally unstable state instead of trying to force it to be stable. I have several opinions on this matter: 1. Capital redistribution: Policies that encourage investment in manufacturing could break up this pattern of capital concentration by spreading it out more fairly and making the economy more resilient. 2. Economic resilience: Instead of trying to reach equilibrium, it would be better to spend in infrastructure for manufacturing to make it more resistant to shocks in the future. 3. Realtime modeling: Classical models do not consider how uncertain chaotic systems are. Adaptive, data-driven methods would give a more true and adaptable picture of the economy. But the question is whether we want to be honest and declare that openly? For now, thoughts Indonesia's economy needs strength, not stability. The PMI drop suggests rethinking traditional economic paradigms. Econophysics suggests acceptance of chaos may strengthen the system. This nation has major challenges. Will it embrace it or maintain false stability? I studied these principles and their implementation in numerous ways. I see it as an excursion into the unknown that can help us realize how intricate life is.... I know what you're going to say: the macroeconomic formula is already hard, and now you're adding physics models to it? Do you really think it will be easy? MAORI IWI CHAIR'S FORUM MEETINGS WITH THE GOVERNMENT I need clarity to calm my initial confusion I did not know that all Iwi chairs met with the government to discuss improving outcomes for Maori I wonder how long this has been going on for I wonder if all those IWI chairs considered working together with the government to use settlement money with some government support to create the following Maori led initiatives Maori led Child Care and Protection Services Maori led Health Services including mental health Maori led criminal and civil legal representation Services Maori led Corrections Services It would be interesting to know HOW LONG the iwi forum has been meeting so we can all ask the following questions 1. WHY HAVE THEY NOT STEPPED IN FOR MAORI TO PROVIDE AN ALTERNATIVE PATHWAY GIVEN THE STATE HAS CAUSED MAORI SO MUCH HARM WITH THEIR SERVICES? 2. HOW HAVE IWI FORUM ADDRESSED THE NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF COLONISATION AND INTERGENERATIONAL TRAUMA?

Budget 2025 Shows Consistency, But More Effort Needed To Boost Economic Complexity - Economist The MADANI government has demonstrated a commitment to a more consistent economic approach with Budget 2025, while also taking a crucial step towards enhancing Malaysia’s economic complexity. During the annual Malaysian Economic Association (MEA) Post-Budget Debate, I asked director of the Malaysian Inclusive Development and Management Institute, Prof Tan Sri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali about the consistency of budgets (2 full budgets and 1 mini budget) under the MADANI government . He noted that Malaysia is ranked 56th on the Economic Complexity Index and emphasized the need for all sectors to embrace complexity for holistic growth, rejecting the idea that certain industries are less important. In his words: “The idea of complexity should apply to all sectors. EGF has been working towards promoting greater set of responsible and fair gaming policies. A critical element of this focuses on consumer empowerment. Our advocacy calls for creating a robust consumer centric mechanism -keeping in mind informed decision making and in this context - particularly limiting the impact of illegal advertising. It is heartening to see that the inter-ministerial task force being set up will be dedicated towards monitoring and regulating social media advertising. We hope that it will closely examine advertising practices of illegal offshore betting and gambling operators which operate in India with impunity.

It's been a month since I kicked off the mid-year checkpoint for District 51 this term, starting from November 2024. We began with the District Officers Training (similar to Head of Departments) on 9 & 10 Nov 2024, with tremendous support from Past Leaders Kiang Faang Pyng, KK Chee, CY Chung, TLI Chair (Head of Learning & Development) Grace Chan and the team — Helen Teoh , Tharmizy, and Steven Wee — along with the Club Growth extended team: Khian Kwong Lim, Sawiah Jusoh , and David Li. During this session, we reviewed the performance of the past four months, comparing it to our targeted goals. Gaps were identified, and strategic plans were put in place to achieve them. The following weekends were filled with mid-year check-ins with the club leaders from the eight Divisions under my care. The travel between KL and Penang was undoubtedly demanding, but every trip was worth it as I supported back-to-back training sessions nearly every weekend. I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of Program Quality Director (Education) Radzi and Club Growth Director (Marketing) Huei Ying Lim , who have always been by my side. I am delighted that the following goals were successfully checked off during this series of mid-year trainings: ➡️Alignment on Goals: Ensuring that we are all on the same page about our strategic objectives. ➡️Celebrating Achievements: Taking the time to recognize the milestones and successes we’ve achieved together. ➡️Identifying Challenges: Addressing roadblocks and obstacles that may have hindered progress. ➡️Resource Assessment: Evaluating whether we have the necessary tools and support to meet our goals. ➡️Enhancing Work Experience: Gathering feedback to improve our work environment and job satisfaction. This leadership journey with Toastmasters has deepened my insights on how to lead and inspire a team toward achieving our goals.
