Sino pa ba walang Aircon? Here are some practical tips to save on aircon electricity costs: I usually set my aircon to 22°C for sleeping since it keeps me comfortable without waking up perspiring. During the day, I switch to dehumidification mode (DRY mode), which helps keep humidity between 50-60%, making the room feel cooler without dropping the temperature too much. This is ideal for Manila’s humid climate. I find setting the remote to 24°C during the day works fine, as the actual room temp usually stays around 23°C with lower humidity. It’s important to note that setting the aircon to very low temperatures like 16°C often only cools the room to about 19°C, but the compressor works non-stop, leading to higher electricity costs. To save energy, use DRY mode (look for the water droplet symbol, not the snowflake) and set the temp to around 24°C or 25°C during the day. Auto Mode: If your aircon has an Auto Mode, it can automatically switch between COOL and FAN modes based on the room temperature. However, Auto Mode won’t switch to DRY mode automatically, so you’ll need to do that manually if you want to control humidity. Auto Mode is useful for maintaining comfort and energy efficiency, but manual switching is necessary for managing humidity. By the way, if you’re using higher HP models for more than 10 hours a day, investing in energy-saving technology like Energy SavAire (ES) can make a significant difference in cutting down your electricity costs. For reference, here’s a rough estimate of aircon electricity costs in Manila: • 1 HP (900 watts) - ₱2.50 per hour • 1.5 HP (1.2 kW) - ₱3.75 per hour • 2 HP (1.9 kW) - ₱5.00 per hour • 2.5 HP (2 kW) - ₱6.25 per hour Hope this helps! #EnergySavings #EnergySavAire #Sustainability

I am not sure how true this is, but if it’s true, then it’s not good for the country. Bank Negara statistics show that legal money lending amounts to RM2.2 trillion, while the money in circulation is RM150 billion, which is just 6%. This an economy that is almost 95% dependent on debt. SMEs, which employ 75% of the workforce, account for only 5% of this lending. This is a bad economy for the long term.

Comms Minister Urging ISPs To Offer More Affordable High-Speed Internet Packages Communications minister Fahmi Fadzil is urging internet service providers (ISPs) to offer more affordable high-speed packages to citizens. He noted that companies have the capacity to offer competitive pricing for high-speed broadband, particularly citing packages as low as RM39 per month for 100Mbps speeds. This recommendation comes from his observations through the implementation of the Point of Presence (PoP) programme, which is part of the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA). One of the primary goals of the PoP project is to reduce the digital divide in rural Malaysia. By using schools as hubs for fibre optic broadband infrastructure, the project aims to provide high-speed internet access not only to educational institutions but also to government buildings and nearby residential areas, ensuring that all Malaysians have access to reliable and fast internet services. Image: Shutterstock Speaking to reporters during a media conference after the launch of the Perajurit Broadband initiative earlier today, Fahmi highlighted that some ISPs had already introduced 100Mbps packages priced around RM49, with certain areas seeing offers as low as RM39. He pointed out that, moving forward, these more affordable rates should become standard practice, especially for projects carried out under JENDELA and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Image: Pexels Fahmi stressed that this effort is not solely a commercial venture but also serves a strategic national objective. Beyond improving physical access to broadband, the initiative seeks to boost the economy by enhancing digital connectivity across Malaysia. He added that by bridging the digital divide, it can open up new economic opportunities, particularly in underserved areas. Now, let’s consider that the reason for the valuation is that the paid up capital of your company is quite low and was always maintained at. Let’s say RM 15 million ringgit. Let’s also imagine that monthly revenues exceeded 50 million ringgit. Then let’s go ahead and imagine that the issue of potential ‘monthly insolvency’, had to be formerly addressed in your companies published annual financial accounts to substantiate that the company was a Going Concern, even though every time the wholesale check arrived in the mail, it exceeded the Shareholders funds of initial Paid up capital. ..And so it was - but none of that was explained for the merger process, let’s say. Let’s now also imagine a scenario where the commercial agreement is controlled by the mood of the errant directors’ company, which can either enhance or devalue the condition of your company. Especially with regards to the profit and loss statement and control over margins which, let’s imagine - became micromanaged over time and made your company act more like a department of the company who outsourced services to yours

In my conversation with a family member the last time I was back in KL, I found out another family member was given an opportunity to take up a role of branch manager for a well known car brand. He is thinking of saying no. Why? Because he is earning better than a branch manager's salary with his car sales commission, and less responsibilities. Which leads me to thinking about an old friend of mine. He was offered the same long long time ago, to be a bank branch manager. Also he said no for the same reason. The loan commission was way better, and the responsibility was lesser. And that's how you get screwed by short term thinking. Few years down the road, that friend of mine regretted badly because everyone he knew that took up branch manager roles are now in position of VPs / SVPs in the banking industry. Giving them better access to networking / business opportunities, experiences in managing large scale teams, and chances to scale up your career path locally / globally. Still not too late, as I heard he got his branch manager role a few years back, and now he is in the corporate side of things. There is a caveat. Unless what you earn currently, and what you doing now are already part of your long term goal. In all my advices, as long as you are happy with what you have, you are good. But always think long term, that is my only ask. My family member asked what would I do. Needless to say, I will take up the role without batting an eyelid. Challenging, sure. Unknown, sure. Scary, of course sure. Live your life in the great words of Richard Branson - Screw it, let's do it! And that's how I ended up in the Philippines. Lol! #RichardBrandon #screwItLetsDoit #personalGrowth

In my honest opinion, being too honest is not good during interview I don’t mean that you should lie but some things are better left unsaid. Tak payah cerita semua benda. Telling me that your weakness is laziness might not be a good strategy Telling me that you have problem with your boss doesn’t really give me a lot of positive feeling Telling me that you are not clear about your future career plan does not give me a lot of confidence If you are not sure if your interview answers are ‘too honest’, get some advice from good friends that can give you their honest opinion Doktor Az 🩺 #morebetter #honesty p/s are you always honest? ♻️ Repost for the benefit of your honest network

Had an awesome coffee session today with a real estate warrior, Brother Muhammad Nadzmi Ramli (baru kenal 1 minggu je through DM!) and Brother Ahmad Fikry Isa who happened to be nearby. You know what they say, the best conversations happen over coffee! ☕️ (Even if you're not drinking coffee pun takpe 🤣) Macam kata Brother Nadzmi, "Padat harini, balik tak kosong. Insightful". And boy was he right! We deep dived into real estate, financial protection, and management. Plus, bila dah jumpa, mestilah explore potential collaborations kan? Our company's actually quite strong in the gov sector. Something that's usually pretty challenging for sales people to break into. And you know what? Good things are meant to be shared! That's just one of the insights you might get bila coffee with me 😉 So to all my sales warriors out there, if you're feeling stuck with your current market, jom lah kita coffee! InsyaAllah, you won't go home empty-handed. Terima kasih Brother Nadzmi for making time for Fikry and me today. Don't worry, coffee's always on me! P.S: Sometimes the best business opportunities start with a simple "jom coffee"! So don't be shy to reach out. Who knows where our conversation might lead? 😊 #Networking #BusinessGrowth #SalesLife #MeaningfulConnections

Welcome to my “office” at the WooBar at the W in Sentosa. It’s the perfect place to meet potential clients. It’s usually deserted during the day. It has a lovely tall table that I am usually perfeched at. It has free air-con and power for my laptop. It has non-stop supply of every kind of soft and alcoholic drink that you can wish for. It’s confidential. This is important as many people don’t wish for others to know that we’re actually managing their LinkedIn profile. Roadrunners Townhouse. Over the top. Is there a high demand hotspot other than KL City Centre. Yes. Where? Fully qualify yourself as a Roadrunner SS eDPRA Framework 300 Certified I will show you after you pass your on road practical and Field Intell Wheelman Lvl 1. What's the highest area sweep you have done? Some time in history, RM180 (rm50 per hour MY FOOT!) in 2 hours, after Grab repeatedly cancelled jobs assigned and routed me out of a zone going hot. So I left the area and headed for countermeasures zone and swept it in Stitch mode. Is there a pattern in running the city centre sweep? Yes, you will learn that in your on road practical after you pass Framework 300 certification. Why do we need Field Intell Wheeler/wheelman Lvl 1? You will learn Offensive driving, to get your passenger, yourself and your vehicle out of clear and present danger situations. Your vehicle will be equipped for emergency alert to and tracking by Field Intell to intercept you in the shortest time from emergency activation. You will also have access to "safe zones" sites to drive to for safe havens. The protocols are in the Lvl1 curriculum.

Oriental Kopi ("OK") emerged as a rising star during covid. It opened its first 2 outlets in JB between Dec 2020 & May 2021, with 1st year revenue of RM5m & small RM500k loss. Not wasting a crisis with plenty of cheap & prime retail lots (including KLIA2). This is how a seasoned entrepreneur managed to grow a fast-casual diner (or Kopitiam) into a RM133m revenue business in 3 years with 14 outlets, net profit of RM20m, en-route to IPO. 📊 IPO is Not an Exit, but a Growth Strategy Proceeds from this IPO is for expansions only. No Offer for Sale or even for debt repayment. This is how an IPO should be. Raising private capital usually faces the following scenarios: • Being offered a low valuation • With downside protection for investors • Unsustainable growth & cost KPIs causing the most important KPIs - food quality & customers retention to drop OK turned the table around, straight into an IPO to secure funds. Assuming a 15x P/E multiple, this could be a RM300m market cap business that everyone can invest. 🧡 Muhibbah Gastronomy OK has a rare sight for new patrons. Not only for its 2 long queues (1 for dine in & the other for tarts), but also an environment where the Alis, Muthus & Ah Hocks dine together. Some non-halal brands have confusing kosher spin-offs like Din, Ren, or Tien. OK goes straight into the mass market with good food, Halal certified. This insights stem from founder's past experiences of selling phones & bubble tea. It all begins with 2 glass cabinets of phones & sub-renting a small corner of a Malay-owned grocer. Committed to great service, his reputation grows by carrying all major phone brands eventually, including OEM-ing a smartphone! From 1 hot pan into another fire; he ventured into F&B by catching the 2nd wave of bubble teas in 2018, launching Black Whale, Beutea & now Verona Bake. ☕ Not OldTown 2.0 In the world of fickle palates, OldTown lost its charm with it being a meeting place rather than for dining. This was intentional, as OldTown started with their FMCG 3-in-1 powdered beverage back in 1999. Instead of spending ~RM5m p.a. on A&P in 2005, part of that expense can be used to develop a kopitiam business. Hence a storefront becomes a branding exercise as it made sense to do franchising. It was listed in 2011 with 175 stores, 5k retail points & at a market cap of RM412m. But privatised 7 years later at RM1.4b valuation with exit P/E of 17.5x; a 19% IRR for those who hodl! Between 2005 and 2022, MY consumers not only increased their wallet share of spending into dining out (10% → 14%) but also saw an 8% p.a. growth in such spend to RM732/mth today. Though with strong appetites but with 20k of F&B outlets, how does 1 survive? ✔ Serve the masses with all-day dining meals to reduce off-peaks. ✔ Don't underestimate RM1, in this case RM5 tart. ✔ Lastly, not expanding too fast so that there's always 1 less supply for every unit of demand (the Ferrari model).

Hello 👋 guy, Just decided to share my achievements so far, been a difficult journey, but still thank God 🙏 for his grace. So far, given myself a 2 month self development in my writing skills, I feel I still have alot to learn, have a great journey ahead of me. So happy for this, at least the starting point, but the same time, please how can I get a free website, to post some of my writing skills apart from LinkedIn, I need help on this, because recently I applied for some jobs and they require some of my past projects, like links to blogs, article and so on. So if anyone can help i don't mind any suggestions. And so far I learnt how to develop a compelling copy for any business that sell and resonate, speak your tone and business to your target audience. And all thanks to Coursera for the knowledge impacted, and still pursuing for more, till am the best in what I do. #selfdevelopment #elearning #growth #copywriting

Why Pelaburan MARA Berhad? It's not only for Bumiputera? I was asked this question when i was having a conversation with a lawyer last week. For me, the choice was made after careful consideration and my own money into investment. 1) I love the fact that the PMB Investment is open to all Malaysians. 2) Their unit trust is syariah compliant and among the best performing funds. 3) They focus on medium and long term investments, so I can learn to be patient with my investment. 4) There's a lot of technical knowledge sharing, so I am confident to answer technical questions. 5) I love the exclusivity that I'm one of the very few non-bumiputera Unit Trust consultant promoting syariah compliant investment services. Below image below shows the Top 10 best performing Islamic Unit Trust for a 5 year period. PMB has 3 funds in the Top 10 , performing better than other well known unit trust names. I'll let the numbers do the talking.

LinkedIn verifications with Persona. Cannot lah. Won't work. I cannot get verified, apparently because I am physically not in the country that issued my passport, which is why the Persona app doesn't even have the name of that country in the country list it offers me. Use a VPN you say? - Tried that too. It looks like someone has firewalled that handy little workaround ;) So no verification. You folks will have to trust me on my word. Hello, it is me. I exist. And I do have a valid passport. Only not for persona. Feels good to be a person though. Doesn't it? #cannotgetverified #unverifiables #livingandworkingabroad
