The Discover PETRONAS @Schools (DPS) programme recently brought together 120 Orang Asli students from nine secondary schools in Rompin, Pahang together for an inspiring day focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).   Held at the Pusat Intelek Pelajar Orang Asli (PIPOA) in Kuala Rompin, the event featured hands-on experiments and interactive career forums led by PETRONAS volunteers.   A 14-year-old, Asqaresya, expressed newfound enthusiasm for STEM, saying, “Programmes like this inspire me to excel.” Similarly, 15-year-old Zamirul Saiful shared how the problem-solving skills gained from activities such as building a DIY windmill will benefit him in any career, including his dream of joining the police force.   This event marks our ninth DPS initiative this year, and is the first to focus specifically on Orang Asli students. We recently gathered over 190 participants from Sabah’s government agencies and the oil and gas sector for the “Sabah Oil & Gas Industry Talent Alignment Forum” in Kota Kinabalu.   The forum served as a platform for sharing insights on legal frameworks, regulations and policies to further enhance understanding of employment laws in the state, especially those impacting the oil and gas industry.   Senior officers from key government departments shared their expertise, including representatives from the Office of Internal Affairs and Research, Chief Minister’s Department, Immigration Department, Human Capital Development Department, Sabah Labour Department, and the Social Security Organisation.   #PETRONAS #PassionateAboutProgress

Meet Haarinesh a/l Selvaraju, a final-year Computer Science student at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) who aspires to one day lead his own tech company as its CEO. For now, he is focused on building a strong foundation through his studies and experiences with PETRONAS, where he is gaining invaluable insights into the industry.   Reflecting on Deepavali, Haarinesh shares the importance of family and tradition in his life. For him, Deepavali is a time to reconnect and recharge. “It is all about rest and spending quality time together. We sit, eat and share stories as a family, and I especially love making traditional sweets,” he says.   Haarinesh expresses deep gratitude for the opportunities he has gained through PETRONAS’ education sponsorship under the Powering Knowledge initiative. With PETRONAS’ support, he has been able to reach new heights by turning aspirations into achievements, and is now setting his sights on a future that will empower others.   Since 1975, PETRONAS has illuminated the paths of nearly 39,000 students, continuing a legacy of excellence and inspiration. Setinggi impian Pak Da, kini Wau Puyuh berhias Jalur Gemilang yang dibuat bersama belia muda melalui sebuah bengkel khas, terbang megah menghiasi langit, membawa bersama harapan dan semangat perpaduan.   50 tahun dahulu, PETRONAS sendiri merupakan sebuah impian yang menjadi kenyataan disebabkan oleh sokongan dan keyakinan anda yang sentiasa bersama kami. Demi usaha untuk memenuhi impian insan-insan yang memerlukan, kami percaya, bahawa segalanya mampu kita capai apabila kita bersama.   Tonton projek PETRONAS 50 Dreams bersempena dengan ulang tahun ke-50 PETRONAS.   As the last maker of the Wau Puyuh, Pak Da’s dream is to pass on this legacy to the younger generation. Through a special workshop with the youths, his dream is now realised. Together, they crafted a Wau Puyuh adorned with the Jalur Gemilang which now soars proudly in the sky, carrying with it the hopes and spirit of unity.   50 years ago, PETRONAS was a dream come true because of the belief and support of those around us.
