  • PayNet Data Lake team recently collaborated with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host an electrifying #QuickSight Workshop at the AWS office. Amazon QuickSight is a powerful cloud-scale business intelligence (BI) tool that delivers game-changing insights with stunning visualisations. Its customisable #dashboards make it a breeze to navigate—even for those with zero #analytics experience! After an engaging introduction to QuickSight, participants from across divisions took part in a mini contest to design the best QuickSight dashboard based on a sample. This fostered cross-division collaboration and highlighted the potential of data visualisation to drive effective decision-making. Kudos to the PayNet Data Lake team and AWS for organising this insightful workshop! 👏 #PayNet #AWS #AmazonQuickSight

We had another incredible session at the #AI Jam last week, where industry leaders, innovators, and AI enthusiasts came together to explore the transformative potential of AI. Here are some key takeaways:     Zuhairi Zubir, Head of AI Strategy at PETRONAS, delivered a thought-provoking talk on blending #Generative AI (#GenAI) with traditional AI to create scalable, responsible solutions. He also debunked five common misconceptions about AI:     1)       GenAI doesn’t make traditional AI obsolete - they complement each other to drive #innovation.   2)       AI isn’t just about #technology and automation; it thrives on strong strategy, agile governance, and people-centred thinking.   3)       AI won’t take over jobs but instead will reshape roles and create new opportunities.   4)       AI isn’t free from bias or entirely neutral; it’s a reflection of its training data, requiring human oversight to ensure fairness.   5)       AI isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution; effective strategies must be tailored to specific needs.     May Ching Ng, CIO of Maxis, and Mohd Amin, Head of Digital Platforms and IT, showcased practical GenAI tools, from smart bots to Microsoft Copilot. They attributed their success to fostering a culture of #collaboration, continuous #learning, and #ethical practices. 💡   Daren Tan, CEO of ALPHV Technologies & Developer Kaki, wrapped up the session with an inspiring call to adopt AI purposefully while staying vigilant against #scams using AI in this fast-evolving landscape.    That wraps up the second week of the AI Jam—many more exciting sessions are coming up. Stay tuned! ✨ #PayNetAIJam #AIJamMonth #AIJam #PayNet

  • “Welcome to the revolution” One sentence, yet it echoed many “promises”. The sentence was mentioned by MEPS in an extract from the New Straits Times in June 1999. Even back then MEPS acknowledged its valuable position in leading the electronic payment revolution for Malaysia.   ATMs, Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) (online payment system), and MEPS Cash (prepaid card) were all introduced in stages, signifying MEPS’ continuous commitment and inspiring #cashless vision for the people.   Fast forward to 2024, #PayNet continues to build on MEPS’ legacy with services and products that are integral to Malaysians’ lives. #DuitNow, #FPX, #MyDebit and #JomPAY have become an instinctive reflection of our payment habits, every day. Transactions and daily errands are deeply interconnected, and the advancements of these payment services have made everything easier. They save our time and effort, leaving room for more meaningful connections.   As we thrive to build and improve the payment infrastructure for Malaysia, and beyond, we applaud the promises MEPS has fulfilled and the progress we’ve built together. The future of payment technology can be uncertain, but one thing we can assure you: PayNet will strive to make the best of it! #PayNet #ThrowbackFriyay #DigitalPayments

  • Today, we celebrate the graduation of PayNet’s inaugural Program Akar, powered by #AWS re/Start! In collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), this initiative has trained 50 visionary students, equipping them with globally recognised AWS Cloud Practitioner Certifications, hands-on experience in digital payments, and invaluable mentorship from leading Financial Services Industry (FSI) organisations. These graduates are now ready to play a pivotal role in Malaysia’s digital transformation. This success was achieved through our collaboration with World Education Placement Services (WEPS), Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU / APIIT), and FSI partners, including Bank Negara Malaysia, Maybank, Public Bank and others. The event included a panel discussion, ‘Future-Proofing the Industry: Values-Based Early Talent Development of Visionary Leaders’, featuring our GCEO Farhan Ahmad, Peter Murray, Country Manager of AWS Malaysia, Thomas Mathew, GCEO of Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), and Datuk (Dr.) Nora A Manaf, Former Group Chief Human Capital Officer of Maybank. They highlighted the importance of pairing technical skills with core values such as #integrity, #grit, and #leadership. With the next cohort launching in Q1 2025, Program Akar continues to address #Malaysia’s digital talent gap for the #FSI. Congratulations to all #graduates and those who made this milestone possible! #ProgramAkarPoweredByAWS #ProgramAkar #PayNetAkar #PayNet #AWSreStart #DigitalTransformation #FutureLeaders #MalaysiaFSI #DigitalEconomy #GraduationDay

  • PayNet is proud to have partnered with S PAY GLOBAL to transform how transactions are made across Sarawak by linking DuitNow QR to the state-owned eWallet. S PAY GLOBAL currently has over 770,000 registered users and more than 91,000 merchants. The launch was held recently during Bank Negara Malaysia’s Karnival Celik Kewangan (KCK) at Vivacity Megamall, Kuching.   PayNet Senior Director of Commercial Division, Azrul Fakhzan Mainor emphasised that this integration will make S PAY GLOBAL interoperable, which allows #Sarawakians to enjoy seamless, fast, and secure cashless transactions at over 2 million DuitNow QR touchpoints nationwide. This will enable them to have more options to make payments, transfer funds and manage transactions.   Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas on behalf of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, highlighted that S PAY GLOBAL will soon support Cross-Border QR, allowing tourists to make payments through Malaysia's national QR.
