"The suggestion that a project was safe if it was in an advanced stage of development was debatable, pointing out that infrastructure projects like the MRT3 and HSR had achieved significant progress when they were brought to a halt" - Wan Md Hazlin Agyl (Wan Agyl) Wan Hassan CMILT https://lnkd.in/gbbtRXse

Professional institutions in Malaysia, such as AIAC, JP Council, LogM, RISM, CIArb, PAM, and IEM, actively support alternative dispute resolution (ADR). One of its key methods, mediation, is appreciated for its flexibility, cost and time savings, and quick resolution of disputes in business, industry, and community matters. Our CILT (Penang Section) Chairman, Dato’ Log. Ts. Chang Kah Loon, FCILT, FLogM, a Certified Logistics Mediator (CLM), was invited by the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) to serve as a panellist, sharing his perspectives on the effectiveness of ADR in logistics. The session was highly engaging, attended by around 100 professionals, including surveyors, engineers, lawyers, arbitrators, architects, community mediators, and logisticians. The event was graced by High Court Judge YA Dato’ Anand Ponnudurai as the Guest of Honour, with former Federal Court Judge and current AIAC Director, Dato’ Mary Lim Thiam Suan, moderating one of the sessions. The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Malaysia Branch concluded the day with a Cocktail Party following the ADR seminar. Let’s continue to advocate ADR as a practical and effective solution for resolving disputes across various industries. #LovePenang #Penang2030 #XPressFeeders #AKShipping #AKAcademy #AKCorps #AKFam #ProfessionalDiploma #ProfessionalBachelor #ProfessionalMBA #UTMSPACE #CILT #CILT105 #LogM #Logistician #物流師 #Log #LogMBAAC #LogMJLC #LogMLMC #ChangKahLoon #曾家麟 #黄佳宓 #LifelongLearning #Education #MaritimeLogistics #GlobalTrade #Leadership #CertifiedLogisticsMediator #ADR

Privatizing MAHB: Are We Giving Away Too Much? MAHB is back on its feet, with RM4.91 billion in revenue and over RM543 million in profit last year—a clear sign of its resilience and importance to Malaysia’s economy. So why is there a rush to privatize it at RM11 per share, a price many believe doesn’t reflect its true value? This decision could have long-term consequences for Malaysia’s connectivity, tourism, and even public trust. Are we prioritizing short-term gains over what’s best for the nation? We’ve shared a letter with the media to dive deeper into these questions, the risks, and why this deal needs more scrutiny. It’s not just about MAHB—it’s about our future. Take a moment to read it, and let us know what you think. https://lnkd.in/gUSDxFrN #Malaysia #MAHB #Aviation #PublicPolicy #NationalAssets #Leadership

While EVs are a great step in the right direction, their environmental benefits depend on where the power needed to charge them comes from. EVs' carbon footprint decreases substantially when they are charged using energy produced by renewable resources like solar, wind, hydro, or geothermal power. EVs' total emissions, including those from manufacture and use, can occasionally equal or surpass those of vehicles with internal combustion engines if charged using electricity generated from coal, oil, or natural gas. Compared to conventional vehicles, EVs produce more pollutants throughout the manufacturing process, particularly during the battery manufacturing phase. However, as long as the energy source is clean, they make up for this by emitting fewer pollutants while in operation. The sustainability of EVs will be increased by economies actively switching to renewable energy for their electrical grids. For example, Norway, where most electricity comes from hydropower, showcases EVs’ full environmental potential. To fully realise the promise of EVs, governments and industries need to: • Invest in renewable energy projects. • Develop efficient energy storage systems. • Incentivise clean energy usage for EV charging. The push for EVs must go hand-in-hand with efforts to decarbonise electricity production to maximise their environmental advantages. #logistics #mobility #malaysia #transport #sustainability #mobilitymalaysia #logisticsmalaysia #sustainabletransport #smartmobility #publictransport #greenlogistics #urbanmobility #cilt #ciltmalaysia #strongertogether #mymobilityvision #aviation #maritime #sustainable

Reimagining urban mobility in Klang Valley requires more than just building MRT lines. To maximize the benefits of public transport, we need to align land-use planning and urban policies to support transit systems effectively.
Kehidupan metropolitan di Lembah Klang yang sesak memerlukan infrastruktur pengangkutan awam seperti sistem mass rapid transit (MRT). Selain cabaran perancangan pembinaannya yang kompleks, tahap penggunaan pengangkutan awam seperti MRT yang rendah perlu diurus agar manfaatnya dapat dijana sepenuhnya.
