𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐌𝐀 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Students pursuing various programmes at UNIMA have emerged as winners of a competition organized by the Robotics Foundation Limited Malawi. The prize presentation ceremony took place on 15th December, 2024, at the Robotics Foundation Limited Malawi offices. The event attracted participants from various universities, including the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) and the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST). Additionally, innovative individuals from Blantyre and students from different technical colleges participated in the competition. The competition focused on identifying the best 2024 artificial intelligence innovations and robotics projects that can be applied across different government sectors to achieve sustainable development goals. The University of Malawi, on 5th December, 2024, launched the Richard Tambulasi Memorial Scholarship to honor the late Professor Richard Tambulasi, former Principal of Chancellor College, who passed away in 2021. Funded by the Department of Politics and Government and the Department of Management and Leadership Studies, the scholarship will support four Master's students annually, with tuition waivers and MK 400,000 research grants, among other benefits. The students will have to be enrolled in these departments. At the launch, UNIMA Vice Chancellor Professor Samson Sajidu praised the late Professor Tambulasi’s dedication and commitment to the success of the then Chancellor College and excellence of its students. The Tambulasi family, which was present during the launch, expressed gratitude to the University for honoring the late Professor Richard Tambulasi. Their request to have one of the University buildings named after him was warmly received by the Vice Chancellor, who promised to grant such an honor with one of the buildings that the University plans to construct. #UNIMA #ConnectWithExcellence
