Work throughout the district in the absence of Preschool Lead Teacher and/or Preschool aide.
Develop weekly activity plans and program activities consistent with the education plan.
Implement a good balance between child-directed and teacher-directed activities.
Plan and implement individual and group activities that stimulate growth in language, reading, math, science, social, and motor skills; as well as emotional development and creativity.
Provide healthy and safe activities that are developmentally appropriate and age appropriate.
Maintain appropriate ratios and supervision by sight at all times.
Evaluate children’s progress by using a variety of assessment tools and documents appropriately.
Maintain records up to date
Incorporate individualization into each lesson plan.
Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, conferences, and trainings as directed.
Maintain positive relations with parents, families, and other staff.
Model relationship building skills in all interactions.
Effectively communicate on a regular basis with families, parents, and guardians through verbal and written means.
Complete accident reports and follow-ups.
Work cooperatively with and develop work assignments for assistant teachers.
Provide a welcoming environment to families.
Initiate receptive, responsive, and respectful relationships with the families.
Support parent and child relationships in a way that values the culture and language of the family.
Communicate with the principal or appropriate director on any concerns or incidents that require a follow up.
CPR and first aid certification
Perform related duties as assigned.
