July was marked by some developments in the financial services ecosystem. Fintech Solutions wraps up some highlights of these recent happenings.   ABANCA completed the acquisition of EuroBic and became the 7th banking entity in Portugal. The transaction was completed 8 months after the purchase and sale agreement was signed by both parties and after receiving the relevant approvals from the different regulators: the Portuguese Competition Authority and the European Central Bank.   Banco de Portugal launched SPIN in Portugal, allowing individuals and entities to transfer money quickly and securely using only the recipient's mobile phone number. This new service simplifies financial transactions by eliminating the need for IBANs and NIPCs. Some banks have already implemented it, and it will be mandatory for every bank starting September 16th.   Zurich Insurance has launched the Zurich Unit Linked Investimento product, a financial life insurance linked to investment funds.
