From the role of resilience in the face of potential incidents to the opportunities and risks presented by #AI, the discussions reinforced one key message: security is everything. 💡 Key takeaways from #Cyber Root 2024💡 💪 Resilience With the impending enforcement of #DORA in January 2025, this topic was high on the agenda and the different speakers discussed the importance of having the right controls and processes in place to ensure that businesses are able to continually operate in the event of potential security incidents, with Lisa Forte going through an incident scenario to underpin the correct path. 🤝 Collaboration Information sharing between organisations in both the public and private sectors is an important part of tackling cyber threats and getting to the bottom of vulnerability disclosure and remediation. 👌Quality control Security should likely be tackled more as a non-tech function and encompass some non-tech individuals to have a more holistic view to solving security problems by implementing quality control, potentially in other areas of the business or earlier on in the development pipeline to ensure that security issues never actually occur. Greg van der Gaast gave some real-world examples of the benefits of doing this. 🧍People The importance of "People" in the information security strategy of an organisation is often overlooked. I wholeheartedly believe that people are vital in ensuring the protection of any institution or country, and agree with the different tactics discussed during Chelsea Jarvie's presentation on enhancing the security culture of any organisation. 🤖 AI (obviously) It wouldn't be a conference in 2024 if we didn't mention #AI. In the security community, this is a topic that may sometimes be looked at as a risk, but it can be viewed as an opportunity and Greg Williams outlined some historical data to support this. P.S.
