Billie Eilish is no stranger to making waves, and last night she divided those at the Critics’ Choice Awards with an unconventional take on the little black dress.

The Bad Guy singer, 22, attended the glittering ceremony alongside her brother Finneas O’Connell, 26, as she was nominated in the best song category for her single What Was I Made For? which featured on the Barbie soundtrack.

Hitting the red carpet, the musician certainly turned heads in an eye-catching outfit that continues to push boundaries.

Billie paired a structured, black corset top with a white button-up shirt dress underneath which trailed to the floor.

She accompanied the bizarre layered look with towering black platform boots and dark, circular glasses for a monochrome look which accentuated her fiery red locks.

While the fashion statement has been widely criticised as one of the worst of the red carpet round-ups, Billie seemed completely unphased on the night as she playfully pouted and smirked for the cameras ahead of the ceremony.

Billie and Finneas lost out on the best song prize to another Barbie single – I’m Just Ken by Ryan Gosling.

The Drive actor, 43, looked as shocked as everyone else at receiving the prestigious award, as the camera panned to the star appearing utterly bewildered as his name was read out.

The Ocean Eyes singer’s appearance at the Critics’ Choice Awards comes after she begged people to leave her alone after being outed for ‘liking girls.’

She recently addressed her feelings towards women, appearing upbeat at the time but has now said she felt the interaction amounted to ‘outing’.

Billie, 21, confirmed that she is part of the LGBTQ+ community at the Variety Hitmakers event on December 2, when she was asked to follow up on comments made when she graced the publication’s cover.

Posting pictures and videos of herself, she called out Variety for seemingly forcing her hand on defining her sexuality.

She wrote: ‘Thanks Variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11 am instead of talking about anything else that matters. I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares.’

Cooly ending the sarcastic message, Billie directed everyone to go stream her hit Barbie song What Was I Made For?
