The International Championship is moving on at pace in Nanjing, with some big names falling earlier than they would have expected or hoped to.

The likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Shaun Murphy and Ali Carter have all fallen at the last 32 stage, with the Rocket the highest profile casualty on Tuesday after defeat to Pang Junxu.

Murphy was ousted by Chris Wakelin by Carter was sent home by Jackson Page in an eventful session on Tuesday which also saw Jack Lisowski edge out Si Jiahui 6-5.

The third round comes to a conclusion on Tuesday evening in China, with the last 16 played in its entirety on Wednesday.

After very few shocks in the opening two rounds the draw has started to open up just a little bit and there will be attention turning towards the huge top prize as we reach the business end of the tournament.

There is also the bonus of the final spot in the Champion of Champions on offer, for anyone who has not yet qualified for the prestigious event next week.
