The M11 is closed in both directions close to the M25 this afternoon in the lead up to rush hour following a police incident.

Air ambulance is at the scene following the incident that happened on the northbound carriageway between junctions four and six.

All traffic is currently being held temporarily until it is resolved but traffic is building.

Meanwhile, Londoners are facing travel chaos this afternoon thanks to signal faults and emergency engineering works causing delays.

There have been problems on the Northern line all day between Kennington and Camden Town northbound via Bank while TfL tries to fix a signal failure at London Bridge.

The London Overground is seeing delays and suspensions in a number of areas following a customer incident at Wapping, a faulty freight train at Finchley Road & Frognal, and unavailable signalling staff.

Bakerloo Line partially suspended

The Bakerloo line is currently suspended between Paddington and Elephant and Castle, due to a ‘customer incident’. We’ll give you more information as we get it.

Lanes closed on M62 due to car fire

Three lanes on the M62 westbound between junction 30 and 29 near Wakefield are currently closed due to a car fire.

While emergency services are about to leave the scene, there are currently delays of 30 minutes in the area.

There is also five and a half miles of queues which is not good for drivers in the run up to rush hour this evening.

No London Overground trains between Richmond and South Acton

There is no service between Richmond and South Acton due to a points failure at Gunnersbury.

But there is a good service on rest of line and all other routes.

Disruption is expected to continue until at least 6pm this evening.

Signal fault between Redhill and Gatwick Airport

A fault with the signaling system at Redhill means some lines are disrupted.

As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised. This is expected until 17:00.

The 3.52pm train from Redhill to Three Bridges is already cancelled and others are delayed.

Major airport reveals £400million renovation plans

Bristol Airport says it will be renovating over the next five years to improve its facilities for customers.

Its terminal will be increased in size by 70%, with a larger baggage claim and immigration area, more restaurants, and larger lounges.

From next year, a new covered walkway will allow travellers to access the airport from the outside car parking and public transport area.

Once the work is completed Bristol Airport bosses hope to welcome up to 12million passengers every year.

Signal fault between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street

There’s a fault with the signalling system between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street which has blocked some lines.

It’s affecting East Midlands Railway, Northern, and TransPennine Express services which run between these two stations.

Passengers are facing half-hour delays and potential cancellations.

Disruption between Southall and London Paddington

There are urgent repairs being carried out on the line between Southall and London Paddington, which is causing disruption to the Elizabeth line and Great Western Railway services which run between them.

Elizabeth line customers may use their ticket on London Buses between Hayes & Harlington and London Paddington at no extra cost.

A64 closed in both directions after crash

The A64 is closed between the B1248 near Malton and the B1249 near Willerby after a crash involving a car and motorbike.

North Yorkshire Police are on the scene.

Drivers are being diverted via the entry and exit slip roads.

Signal fault between Maidstone West and Strood

There’s been a signal fault between Maidstone West and Strood this afternoon, affecting Southeastern routes between Tonbridge or Paddock Wood and Strood.

Trains can’t run between Maidstone West and Strood at the moment, and the disruption is set to last until around 3pm.

Your train tickets can be used on the 151 Snodland-Strood and the 71 & 72 Snodland-Maidstone buses at no extra cost.

Widespread suspensions on London Overground

There are several incidents across the London Overground network today which are causing severe delays.

  • No service between South Acton and Richmond / Shepherd’s Bush and Clapham Junction
  • Severe delays between Stratford and South Acton / Shepherd’s Bush due to an faulty freight train at Finchley Road & Frognal
  • No service between Gospel Oak and Woodgrange Park due to the unavailability of signalling staff
  • No service between Surrey Quays and New Cross, severe delays between Highbury and & Islington and Clapham Junction / Crystal Palace / West Croydon due to an earlier customer incident at Wapping

Elsewhere on the Tube network, there are still severe delays between Kennington and Camden Town northbound via Bank because of a signal failure at London Bridge.

And the Jubilee line has minor delays caused by a faulty train at Westminster.

There’s good service on all other lines.

One lane reopens on M50

One lane has reopened eastbound between junction 2 for Ledbury and 1 for Tewkesbury after a crash.

The other lane is still closed in both directions to assess damage to the central barrier.

Police: Motorcyclist seriously injured on A40

Gloucestershire Police has just published a statement about the A40 crash which has blocked the road this morning.

A spokesperson said: ‘A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a collision with a car this morning.

‘Emergency services were called to a report of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a car on the A40 in Churcham, Forest of Dean.

‘The collision, which involved a Honda CR-V and a Triumph Sprint, happened close to the junction with Bulley Lane shortly before 7am.

‘The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. The driver of the Honda was left shaken but was physically uninjured.

‘Highways has currently closed the road while investigations into the collision continue. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes.’

M50 blocked after crash

Traffic has been stopped on the M50 eastbound between junction 2 for Ledbury and 1 for Tewkesbury after a crash.

National Highways traffic officers are on the scene and are warning drivers to expect delays.

Lane still closed on A56 three days after crash

There’s still one lane closed on the A56 in both directions between the A680 for Rising Bridge and the A679 for Huncoat.

A lorry crashed on Monday and collided with the central reservation, causing major damage.

Work to repair the damage has been in progress ever since, but National Highways has now said they expect the repairs won’t be finished until Friday (October 25).

Engineering works planned for this weekend

There are planned engineering works on the South Western Railway network taking place on Saturday and Sunday.

There are still severe delays between Kennington and Camden Town northbound via Bank due to a signal failure at London Bridge.

Tickets are being accepted on London Buses, Thameslink and Southeastern Railway services via reasonable routes.

There is good service on the rest of the Northern line, as well as the rest of the Tube network.

Reduced service between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin

Island Line trains running between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin are being disrupted after a member of the train crew fell ill.

A reduced service is operating between these stations, and disruption is expected until 1pm.

Until further notice the following alterations will be necessary:

  • Trains will run hourly in both directions until approximately 13:00

Tickets will be accepted on the following services:

  • Southern Vectis 2 and 3 between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin

A40 still blocked in both directions

The A40 is still blocked in both directions between the A48 for Highnam and the A4136 for Huntley.

Gloucestershire Police are investigating following a crash between a car and a motorbike.
