Tom King looks deep in thought at Dale Head in Emmerdale

Tom King (James Chase) has gone missing in Emmerdale – as the rest of the village realise his abusive behaviour.

The revelation comes just one day after he was fired from his position at the Emmerdale veterinary practice.

His wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) had confirmed his true colours to Charity (Emma Atkins) after becoming concerned for village youngster Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), who was growing closer to him.

Word soon spread around the village, with nobody more disgusted than Tom’s colleagues Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick).

Later, they prepared themselves for come face to face with him, and spoke openly about how disgusted they were with him. On the other side of the doors, he was listening in and decided to play innocent.

Luckily, the pair realised his game instantly, and told him upfront that he didn’t have a job with them anymore – which led to him threatening to sue the surgery for unfair dismissal.

An enraged Tom then told his uncle Jimmy (Nick Miles) that he wouldn’t let Belle destroy his personal and professional future.

In tonight’s episode, Jimmy was frantic trying to track him down after he’d gone missing.

Elsewhere, Vinny (Bradley Johnson) sat down with Belle and told her how he regretted not helping her sooner.

Viewers of the ITV soap will remember that a short while ago, she opened up about the verbal abuse she’d received, but not the physical or psychological side.

In the pub, Jimmy raced in looking for Belle, thinking that she might be behind his disappearance. Charity was furious, and the two came to blows as they defended their respective relatives.

Across the road at Keepers Cottage, Amelia told Kerry about how Belle had ‘lied’ about the abuse she suffered, and how she didn’t believe her. Luckily, Kerry was starting to see Tom’s true colours and did believe her side of the story.

She charged over to speak with Charity, confirming to Chas (Lucy Pargeter) what Belle had claimed.

The two Dingle women sat down with Belle in Jacob’s Fold, explaining their own regret after believing Tom’s story about her mental health declining. Belle told them that she wants to deal with the situation alone, for fears that others will label her a ‘victim’ or a ‘headcase’.

After she’d left, Chas discussed the possibility that defensive Cain had caught up with him, with Charity hoping he’d covered his tracks if so.

But with Cain out of the equation, having been dealing with the fire at Butler’s Farm – where is Tom, and has someone else got their revenge?
