The pre-order date for the PS5 Pro has just been announced, as the new console improves the performance and look of several games.
After months of speculation, and a leak by Sony themselves, the PS5 Pro was finally revealed this week in a nine minute presentation headed by lead architect Mark Cerny.
The technical presentation didn’t just show off the design of the mid-gen upgrade, it also detailed its specifications, its price, and a list of which games will get a boost when played on the new console.
It was also revealed that the PS5 Pro will be released on November 7, but it’s only now that Sony has announced when and how you’ll be able to pre-order the console.
PS5 Pro pre-orders and prices
Sony has announced that pre-orders for the PS5 Pro will go live starting September 26.
You can order it early from the Direct PlayStation Store and ‘at participating retailers in territories where direct.playstation.com isn’t available’.
Starting October 10 pre-orders will be available at all other participating retailers.
Sony revealed the price of the PS5 Pro during the presentation, with it coming in at £699.99 in the UK, $699.99 in the US, €799.99 in Europe, and ¥119,980 in China.
Is there a PS5 Pro vertical stand and disc drive?
There are no exclusive accessories for the PS5 Pro, but all official gear for the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Slim will work on the new console too.
The PS5 Pro doesn’t come with a stand to prop the console up vertically, which you will have to buy separately at £24.99 or use an existing one if you have it.
The new console also doesn’t come with a disc drive to play physical copies of games, which also has to be bought separately at £99.99. Although again the same one from the other models will also work with the PS5 Pro.
