Spencer Matthews debuted a bold new look as he embarked on his daring marathon challenge across the Jordanian desert.

The 35-year-old Made In Chelsea star has embarked on his intense Great Desert Challenge plans, aiming to set a Guinness World Record by running 30 marathons in 30 days.

If successful, the feat will earn him the Guinness World Record for the most consecutive marathons run on sand.

As the TV personality completed marathon seven, he decided to shave off his signature brown locks alongside the rest of the team for ‘comfort’ in the blistering heat.

As an incentive to ditch their hair, Spencer offered to donate £1,000 per person to Global’s Make Some Noise.

Sharing a video of their impromptu haircuts to Instagram, he wrote: ‘Marathon 7 done!! 23 to go… Things are heating up, both during the runs and in camp!

‘I fancied ditching the hair for comfort (camp is literally roasting) and to encourage the rest of the team to join me, I offered to donate £1K per head to Global’s Make Some Noise and the incredible causes we’re supporting throughout The Great Desert Challenge.

‘They didn’t think twice (apart from Matt) about getting involved and now we’ve gone from looking like a team to looking like brothers. Bring on the next 23 marathons!! 🙌.’

Meanwhile, Vogue Williams is supporting her husband by running 5K every day for 30 days for the 30in30 challenge after issuing a stark warning to Spencer before the challenge began.

He previously revealed the ‘dangerous’ feat caused friction between himself and Vogue, 38, who he married in 2018.

‘She thinks it’s mad. She thinks it’s dangerous and she thinks it’s mad. I’ve spent a while kind of sitting with her and explaining to her the reasons that I feel comfortable taking on the challenge.,’ he said during an appearance on Aimee Fuller’s Monday Mile podcast.

She’s not a runner in the way that I run and I think she sees the whole thing as just being a bit dangerous,’ he continued.

‘There was a time at the beginning where it created a little bit of friction in the house because she didn’t really understand why I would want to put myself in this, you know, potentially deadly scenario. And just before we, you know, make it all peaches and cream, it is a deadly scenario.’

Despite being ‘petrified of failing’ the challenge, Spencer said the sight of his son Theodore, five, at the finish line is spurring him on.
