Paris is both the host of the Olympics and the city of love and this was certainly the case for two Chinese athletes on Friday.
China won gold in the badminton mixed doubles final, with Huang Yaqiong and Zheng Siwei triumphing over Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun of South Korea.
Huang is a highly-decorated athlete having previously won silver in Tokyo as well as three world championships.

And she’ll be leaving the French capital with not just a gold medal but also a diamond ring after her boyfriend and fellow Olympian proposed following the medal ceremony.
Liu Yuchen, who competes in the badminton men’s doubles, got on one knee and asked for Huang’s hand to which she said yes.
The crowd cheered on the happy couple, in what is actually the third marriage proposal of these Paris Olympics.
The boyfriends of French sailors Sarah Steyaert and Charline Picon proposed to the pair after they won bronze in the skiff sailing. Both said yes.
Unlike his now-fiancee however, Liu will not be winning a medal himself after he and partner Ou Xuanyi were knocked out at the group stage, though China can still win the men’s doubles through a different pair.
The Chinese have a big lead in the medal table as it stands, with 13 golds and 27 medals total.
