Coronation Street lines up another traumatic week for our beloved Roy Cropper (David Neilson), as confirmed in my new spoiler pictures, as the cafe legend is rushed to hospital.
Roy, as fans know, was recently imprisoned for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), who vanished without a trace earlier this year.
The legendary stalwart was subsequently released but he’s struggled to leave the flat since becoming a free man, with his prison ordeal having left him a shell of his former self.
Next week, while out on a walk to visit Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), who he believes to be ill, he is confronted by a gang of youths in Victoria Gardens. Carla Connor (Alison King) comes to his aid, ordering the youths away, but it’s clear that he’s in pain.
Roy’s health is later the subject of much concern and an ambulance is summoned to the cafe, where paramedics perform CPR after he collapses to the floor.
And things take a mysterious turn as, once in hospital, Roy receives a visitor, with Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) believing that he’s hallucinating.
Just who did Roy see? And was it really a hallucination?
Elsewhere on the cobbles, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) is stunned to get a letter saying that Mason (Luca Toolan) is due to be released from prison.
She heads to the police station to ask some questions about the subject, unaware that Gary Windass (Mikey North) is there with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), providing his bank statements.
As Gary comes out of the interview room, Maria is stunned and wastes little time in demanding to know what is going on. Will Gary reveal all?
Maria certainly wants answers, that’s for sure!
Coronation Street airs these scenes between Monday, July 8 and Friday, July 12 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
