Joel Deering (Calum Lill) has ordered teenage sex worker Ellie (Lola Blue) to stay away from him in Coronation Street – as his plan to incriminate Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) fell through.
It’s been quite the busy week for Joel after we learnt he was responsible for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), who he brutally hit over the head several times with a chair leg and then left for dead in her flat.
He’d also successfully managed to get paedophile Nathan behind bars for the crime, with nobody believing his innocence.
Meanwhile, we learnt that he’d paid off a teenager named Ellie, who Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) had reached out to for answers surrounding the arrest.
Bethany believed that she had possibly been lured into the same sex ring that she was back in 2017, and after some cash from Joel, confirmed that Nathan had abused her.

His masterplan seemed to work, until last night’s (June 5) episode, when he was dropped as his solicitor, with Nathan fearing that he didn’t have his best interests in mind to represent him.
In a bid to get Bethany and mum Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) back on side, he assured them that he was the one who had moved away from the case, and offered free legal advice to them moving forward.
Later, we saw him meet up with Ellie, who asked him for more money to keep her silence. He told her to go out and work for it, and not to ever contact him again.

Joel’s girlfriend Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) had her own woes after a disastrous lunch with his snobbish parents Gus and Anthea.
The couple were unsure of her career prospects at Barlow Legal, and became increasingly patronising when they learn about her dad’s job in the building trade.
Clearly panicking that he was about to lose his support network, he proposed to her and she was uncertain as to whether they were rushing things.
Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) convinced her otherwise, and suggested it maybe wasn’t too bad of an idea. She then met up with Joel and accepted his offer of marriage.
She doesn’t quite know how dangerous this could be, does she?
