This article contains spoilers from Monday’s (May 6) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
Just when we thought Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler) couldn’t be any more vile, he made up a disgusting lie about Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) in order to cover up his sexual assault against her.
Yolande was left traumatised after Pastor Clayton’s attack, and her behaviour since has left Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) seriously concerned.
When Yolande almost started a fire in the family home, Patrick urged her to visit the doctor, worried that there was something wrong.
His fears only increased when he learnt that Yolande had missed her appointment, and he soon turned to the Pastor for help.
As Patrick explained his concerns, pointing out how out of character it was for Yolande to miss church, Pastor Clayton was quick to twist the narrative, telling Patrick that he too suspected that there was something wrong.
When Patrick explained that Yolande had been forgetful and not sleeping well, Pastor Clayton revealed that he had seen the same behaviours in other older women, and told Patrick that he worries Yolande may have dementia.
Patrick was devastated, and when Yolande refused to stay for a drink with him he was even more worried.
Later, Patrick confided his concerns in Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), who urged Patrick to take things at Yolande’s pace, and not to push her to go to a doctor before she was ready.

With Alfie’s advice in mind, Patrick headed home for a serious conversation with Yolande, where he promised to be there for her no matter what was wrong.
As Patrick revealed the Pastor’s lie, Yolande was horrified and made it clear that she didn’t have dementia.
Confused, Patrick begged to know what was really going on, but Yolande struggled to find the words. Will she be able to open up?
