Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) continues to battle with her emotions in the aftermath of being sexually assaulted in EastEnders and, as a result of feeling so overwhelmed, she ends up starting a fire.
Yolande was attacked by Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler) a few weeks ago. Afterwards, she opened up to Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) about the ordeal but begged her friend not to say anything.
Yolande remains terrified of not being believed about the ordeal and due to keeping the attacked bottled up, it is starting to have a serious impact on her wellbeing and her relationship with Patrick (Rudolph Walker).
Coming up, Denise (Diane Parish) and Patrick are stunned when Yolande overreacts to Levi’s concerns about her not attending the latest prayer group.
She takes refuge in the laundrette but soon becomes emotional following a conversation with Jean (Gillian Wright) and reveals her current crisis of faith.
After food for thought from Jean, Yolande returns home to tell the family she’d like to arrange Jordan’s baptism.
Yolande becomes a little too involved in the plans which prompts Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) to snap. She tells Yolande to butt out of her life, but feels guilty later and tries her best to make amends.
Towards the end of the week, Yolande learns from Denise that Chelsea is with Pastor Clayton discussing the baptism. Fearing for her safety, Yolande heads to the Community Centre and orders Chelsea to leave.
In the Square, Pastor Clayton continues to cruelly intimidate Yolande who forbids him from being a part of Jordan’s baptism.
