Warwick Davis’ children have shared a heartfelt tribute following the death of his wife Samantha Davis.
It was announced last week that Samantha had died at the age of 53.
Now, his children have posted a message on their father’s official X account, writing: ‘Our Mum, the kindest, most inspirational and loving Mumma we could have wished for, devastatingly passed away on the 24th March.
‘While it’s a very difficult time for us, we’re humbled by everyone who has reached out to offer support & to express how Sammy impacted their lives.’
They continued: ‘Dad wanted us to share the project that we have all started for Mum. Through her work with Little People UK, Sammy was passionate about helping younger members of the dwarfism community, in particular those of school age.’
A link was then shared to the Just Giving page set up in Samantha’s memory and to ‘continue the amazing work she did’.
At the time of writing, donations amounting to over £11,000 have already been received.
The statement concluded: ”We understand times are hard, simply sharing this message helps us spread awareness for the charity and the work they do.’
Their post comes after, earlier today, the Harry Potter actor’s kids were forced to speak out as concern grew for their father.
Warwick, 54, said alongside a broken heart emoji in his first message since confirming Samantha’s death: ‘I’m done here. Signing off.’
After the comment worried the Star Wars actor’s 661.9K followers, his children Annabelle and Harrison assured them he meant he was taking time away from social media.
‘Thank you everyone for looking out for our Dad, he is taking some time away from social media,’ they wrote on their father’s official account.
‘He apologises if his last message caused anyone concern. We appreciate all of your love and support, Annabelle and Harrison x.’
Warwick’s last post on Instagram was published in October and is the last public photo of himself with Samantha before her death.
In the picture, both Warwick and Davis look straight at the camera and beam from ear to ear.
He captioned it: ‘A long overdue date night with my beautiful wife. She felt a bit overdressed for McDonald’s! 😂😍.’
In the statement announcing Samantha’s death shared with the BBC last week, Warwick said: ‘Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs.’
The actor described his wife, ‘Sammy’, as his ‘most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career’.
‘She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes.’
Annabelle and Harrison, also paid tribute to their mother, saying: ‘Her love and happiness carried us through our whole lives.
‘Mum is our best friend and we’re honoured to have received a love like hers.’
Samantha co-founded the dwarfism charity Little People UK and featured in the final Harry Potter film, alongside Warwick.
Her other acting credits include the 1989 BBC educational series Through the Dragon’s Eye, Honky Sausages and ShortFellas.
Warwick, meanwhile, has appeared in dozens of films and TV shows, including Horrible Histories – The Movie, Merlin and MI High.
Outside of drama, Warwick has also featured on shows like Who Do You Think You Are? and An Idiot Abroad, along with Karl Pilkington.
