Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) and Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter)’s marriage in Emmerdale started off with a secret wedding – or it would have if Cain (Jeff Hordley) hadn’t got involved – and ended with a very public split.
When Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) used Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Tom King (James Chase)’s wedding to announce that her husband Caleb (William Ash) had been having an affair with Tracy, Nate and the rest of the family were stunned.
In the fallout from that it became clear that Tracy and Caleb’s affair was over, as Ruby had her feet very firmly under the table at Mill Cottage and despite Caleb’s protestations that they were in mid-divorce, she’s still there and her and Caleb’s relationship seems to be very much back on.
For Tracy, however, sampling the delights of Caleb had made her realise that her marriage wasn’t working and she wasn’t in love with Nate. While she would always love him because he’s Frankie’s dad, she didn’t want to be married any longer.
While the break-up was hard for both Nate and Tracy to deal with, they’ve tried to move on and eventually sorted out an amicable relationship for Frankie’s sake.
Nate’s wounds are still raw, however, and in upcoming episodes he gets into a massive slanging match with Ruby which leaves him feeling upset.
Eventually Nicky (Lewis Cope) persuades Ruby to apologise to Nate and an unlikely friendship emerges between Ruby and Nate as they both bond over the hurt caused by Tracy and Caleb.

While Nate is happy to be on more amicable terms with Ruby, he makes it clear that he has no intention of ever forgiving Caleb for what he did.
Meanwhile, Tracy is feeling lonely and sad, and seeks solace in alcohol. With her beer goggles firmly in place, suddenly her estranged husband looks a whole lot more appealing to her and she tries to kiss Nate.
He’s flustered but it’s not what he wants and he quickly rejects her, leaving Tracy humiliated.
