TikToker Bryce Hall has responded to a viral clip of Billie Eilish allegedly complaining about the presence of TikTok influencers at the People’s Choice Awards.

Billie Eilish, 22, and Kylie Minogue, 55, were filmed having a heart-to-heart at the awards show ceremony this weekend. After close analysis by fans online, the clip appears to show Eilish saying ‘I don’t need it’ in regards to a table of TikTokers seated behind her.

Hall, who has 23.9 million followers on TikTok, was one of the TikTokers present at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California Sunday. He duetted the clip of Eilish yesterday and responded to what he called her ‘disgust’ at his presence, sarcastically stating, ‘I am so sorry that I didn’t acknowledge your greatness and bow down to you, being another human being.’

He goes on to say that every TikToker present at the ceremony was personally invited by the People’s Choice Awards and so if she has any problems she can take it up with them.

He then wipes a fake tear as he says he was a huge Billie ‘stan’ before the controversy but now wouldn’t feel right posting TikToks using her music.

The entire video is doused in sarcasm, which was made all the more poignant just an hour later when Hall posted a follow up TikTok. The new post shows a slideshow of photos of Hall at the PCA’s with Eilish’s song ‘Bad Guy’ accompanying it. He captioned the post: ‘I’m the bad guy.’

Besides Hall, TikToker’s present at the ceremony included Alix Earle, Tana Mongeau, Josh Richards, Haley Kalil, Olivia Ponton, and more.

It’s worth noting that it’s not been confirmed exactly what the Grammy winner is even saying in the viral clip.

The video shows the Bad Guy singer leaning conspiratorially towards the Australian icon, obviously dishing some gossip.

They’re evidently mid conversation when Eilish appears to notice the camera. In a half-hearted effort to create privacy, Eilish puts her hand in front of her mouth.

Her words are only semi-audible, but many agree that a close look at the star’s lips reveals that she probably said: ‘I’m like, there’s some like, TikTokers here…over there,’ before gesturing behind her.

She continues: ‘Which is just… I don’t need it.’

The clip doesn’t capture Minogue’s response or any additional thoughts from Eilish, but Hall isn’t the only person to share his thoughts about the moment online.

Many fans agreed with Eilish that social media stars have no place at an awards show. TikTok user @gabbyssk commented under a repost of the video: ‘No cause like imagine actually having TALENT and being seated next to lip syncers who got lucky on an App. She’s so real idk.’

@crystynah_ added simply: ‘She was so real for that.’

Other fans disagreed and thought the dig was unnecessarily harsh.

@casavcsev6y commented: ‘That’s disappointing. I love her. I didn’t think she would talk about people like that. Why can’t Tik tok people be there…people’s choice not the Oscars.’

@ccmary2 commented: ‘It’s the people’s choice awards not the Oscars. Who did she think was going to be there. It’s giving mean girl.’

But some disagree with the popular interpretation of the clip. Jackie Gonzalez (@tismejackieg), a TikToker whose gone viral several times for her lip reading interpretations of celebrity encounters, thinks the clip doesn’t capture much of significance. She told Metro: ‘It’s my opinion that she [Eilish] says something more along the lines of “They look like- you guys *covers mouth* -there, which is… just-“’

The online debate surrounding the clip doesn’t appear to be dying down anytime soon with Hall’s response video having already gained 4.8 million views at time of writing.

Controversy aside, it was a big night for both Minogue and Eilish with Eilish winning TV performance of the year and Minogue performing her song Padam Padam for the PCA audience. Eilish won for her part in the series Swarm, beating competition including Meryl Streep, Ayo Edebiri, and Jon Hamm.

Eilish dedicated her win to her Swarm co-star star Dominique Fishback, whom she said, ‘deserves this [award] more than I do.’

‘I want to dedicate this to Dominique Fishback because that show is all about her,” Eilish said. “She brought her whole cooch into that show. And she really carried the hell out of it. She taught me everything I know. That whole experience I owe to her. She deserves this more than I do. She’s incredible, she is beautiful, she is talented, she should be cast in everything forever.’
