One of the star’s of The Apprentice has claimed that one of the episodes she filmed reminded her of racist prejudice that she’s experienced in her life.
Earlier this year, the series fronted by Lord Alan Sugar returned, as the business mogul went in search of a new business partner to award a £250,000 investment.
Following the release of episode three last week – which saw Dr Asif Munaf fired, after he sparked outrage for antisemitic remarks – jewellery company owner Noor Bouziane has spoken out about feeling ‘ignored’ during one of the tasks.
The 22-year-old shared a couple of videos on TikTok opening up about her experience, stressing that it’s not right to be ‘dismissed because of your age, because of your religion, because of what you look like, because of your skin tone.’
She outlined how in the third episode, the two teams were tasked with creating a virtual reality gaming experience, for which she thought that she would perform well on the branding side of things.
‘But when it comes to me, it was like my skills were just being brushed under the carpet. It was like, whatever skill you have, no, it doesn’t matter, we’ll just put you wherever. That really upset me,’ she stated.
Noor’s fellow competitor Flo Edwards, 29, had been the project manager on the task.
‘I’m very big on respect. If someone put themselves forward as project manager, I’m going to give you all the respect in the world,’ Noor said.
However, she claimed that when she put forward ideas in the brainstorming session to try and make the game more ‘exciting’, it was ‘just being brushed under the carpet’.
‘Everything I was saying was being ignored, ignored, ignored, ignored,’ she recollected. ‘This is where I was getting so frustrated. I was getting so angry.’
She continued: ‘Honestly, guys, at that moment, it gave me so many flashbacks of when I used to work office jobs, and when I used to work in corporate jobs. That literally brought me back to 16-year-old Noor.’

Emphasising how there are many people who might be able to relate to how she felt in that moment, she said to the camera: ‘Just because you come from Morocco, just because you come from Spain, just because you’re not born there, people don’t look at you the same and you’re not given the same opportunities.
‘You guys can literally see it in that episode, that in 2024 stuff like this happens. You might have the best ideas – because I know when I put my ideas in anything, whatever I touch turns into gold.’
After opening up about launching her business when she was just 20 years old, Noor shared that she saw many comments on X that pointed out that ‘this is not right’.
‘How does that even make sense in 2024, just because you’re Muslim, just because you’re Black, just because you’re Asian, just because you’re Moroccan. Just because you’re Scouse, there’s still racism in the workplace that happens on a daily,’ she said.
According to MailOnline, recruitment consultant Flo is said to be ‘devastated’.
‘Flo’s friends say she is devastated at this suggestion,’ a source told the publication.
‘Her whole business is around inclusion in the workplace, and she is mortified that anyone would think this of her, and that Noor has never raised how she felt.’
In response, a spokesperson for the BBC said in a statement sent to Metro.co.uk: ‘There has been no allegation or concerns raised of discrimination and to report as such is completely untrue.
‘The Apprentice has a zero-tolerance policy on discrimination. The duty of care and welfare of all candidates is of utmost importance and when action is required, we take it.
‘All candidates sign up to strict code of conduct which makes it clear that any form of discrimination is not tolerated and will be fully investigated.’
