Greggs unveils new chicken burger set to rival a McDonald’s staple

Rejoice, we bring you good Greggs news. Our fave bakery has updated its menu with some tantalising new offerings, including a chicken mayo burger set to rival the McDonald’s staple.

Following a small trial of chicken burgers and wraps early last year, Greggs has now announced they will be making a return- but on a bigger and better scale with a new recipe.

On offer is the Mayo Crispy Chicken Burger – made from chicken breast in a crispy coating, with iceberg lettuce and mayonnaise – alongside a Mayo Chicken Wrap that’s made with Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, mixed leaf salad, cucumber and mayonnaise.

Also joining the trial is the Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger – similar to the mayo burger but with chipotle mayonnaise and jalapeño peppers for a spicy twist. 

All three of the new hot menu items – which are available to order from the counter – are part of the hot sandwich deal, which includes any hot sandwich, Southern Fried Potato Wedges or Side Salad and any cold drink from £4.95.

Before you head out to the door to your nearest Greggs, bear in mind that these new additions are only available in certain stores (but fret not, there are other offerings available nationwide).

There are 10 stores trialling the range, so if all goes well, the offerings could soon be available in a Greggs near you.

You might not be able to get your hands on all the range but anyone around the country who’s also a fan of cinnamon will have a bunch of new options to try.

Greggs also announced in the new menu a series of cinnamon flavoured treats available nationwide.

New hot drinks on offer include the Cinnamon Swirl Latte, Cinnamon Flat White, and in selected shops across the UK, an Iced Cinnamon Latte is also up for grabs. 

Meanwhile, all hot drinks will now be available to order with oat milk across selected Greggs shops up and down the UK.

You can also pick up a Cinnamon Muffin, made with sultanas and filled with a cream cheese frosting, topped off with sweet cinnamon sugar. Greggs fans can pair the Cinnamon Muffin with any hot drink for £2.95.

If you’re a Greggs lover you’ll also be pleased to know they’re opening 160 new stores around the country.

And they’ve even got Valentine’s Day covered with a giant bake for two.
