Analysia and her husband after the birth

A mum has raised eyebrows by naming her baby after a popular McDonald’s menu item — well, sort of.

Analysia Beck recently welcomed her son into the world in wildly dramatic fashion: by giving birth in a McDonald’s car park.

Little Micah Daniel made his entrance in the shadow of those iconic golden arches, and in fitting tribute, his parents have affectionately nicknamed him McFlurry.

Analysia, 25, who lives in Wisconsin, US, was on her way to hospital in the middle of a snowstorm, when she realised she wasn’t going to make it in time.

The urge to push became too strong and she claims she felt as if she were sitting on her baby’s head, so her husband pulled over.

They ended up outside a McDonald’s, waiting for an ambulance to arrive with Analysia labouring in the back of the SUV.

Paramedics arrived just in time, with the mum-of-three telling USA Today that baby Micah was born after just three pushes.

She was concerned he looked rather blue after the delivery, especially given he was born amid a blizzard, but little McFlurry was given the all-clear once they finally made it to a hospital.

The paramedic who assisted the family in the car park reportedly suggested they call the infant ‘Baby McNugget’ – but we think the frozen dessert was a more apt choice given the circumstances.

Analysia shared details of her ‘dramatic’ birth story on Facebook, writing: ‘Micah Daniel made his very dramatic entrance into the world at 4:12am on January 12th.

‘While on our way to the hospital, he decided he wanted to make a quick stop at McDonald’s…. He didn’t want to be born in the hospital! Micah was born in our trunk in the parking lot of McDonald’s during a blizzard and appropriately earned the nickname “McFlurry” and yes we also realise the irony of his name being able to be shortened to “Mickey Ds”.’

She added: ‘It was terrifying, traumatising, and painful giving birth all natural with no meds/doctors and seeing him come out completely blue because it happened so fast and literally in the snow, but he’s doing very well now and all we can do is praise and thank God for protecting us!!!’

Hundreds of people have commented on the post sharing well wishes and messages of congratulations for the family.

Attiya Butler wrote: ‘What a grand entrance!!! Congratulations!!’

Samie Kraczek replied: ‘That’s amazing, what a story!! Congrats!’

And Macho Echevarria-Rodriguez joked: ‘That’s almost like an episode of Grey‘s Anatomy lol.’

This family’s Maccies-inspired moniker is actually pretty tame compared to some of the baby names we’ve seen. Take for example the ABC Australia journalist who named her newborn ‘Meth Rules’.

Wild, but it wasn’t quite what it seemed.

ABC presenter Kirsten Drysdale, 38, welcomed her third child with husband Chris in 2023.

Kristen decided to see if she could push the boundaries and go for an out-there choice when it came to her son’s name and much to her amazement, the name she submitted — Methamphetamine Rules — was approved.

While offensive terms are prohibited by the New South Wales Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, the name somehow got through.

A few weeks after giving birth, the birth certificate arrived, with Methamphetamine Rules listed as the newborn’s given name.

Kristen had been attempting to use her own child to help with an investigation for her show, WTFAQ, after many viewers asked ‘What can I legally name my baby?’ – but no one expected this answer.

Thankfully, the tot has since been given a ‘normal’ legal name.

A couple from the US also decided to give their baby a unusual name, inspired by a UK city. However it backfired as the parents couldn’t pronounce the place properly.

An anonymous Reddit user revealed that his cousin’s girlfriend had been named Lecesta, which was inspired by the city of Leicester.

The poster went on to blast people who opt for trendy spellings, claiming it was ‘fatally embarrassing’ – and many agreed.

We’ve also heard how one man kicked off at his wife after she refused to let him name their child after the dead cat he had shared with his ex, or how one mum was warned her son will be bullied for his name when he starts school, as he’s called Poet.
