Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) almost died recently in Coronation Street when he was the victim of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Luckily Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) got worried when she couldn’t get an answer from Aadi at his flat, and broke in to find him unconscious on the sofa. Aadi was rushed to hospital, where a doctor diagnosed what had happened and stated that he was very lucky to be alive.

This all obviously came as a huge shock to Aadi’s family, including dad Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and twin sister Asha (Tanisha Gorey).

After Aadi is released from hospital Dev insists on him coming home, saying there’s no way he’s going to let him go back to the flat where he nearly died.

Asha tells her brother that she and girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) have broken up and Nina has moved out. Aadi feels incredibly guilty, because just before he got ill, he and Nina had shared a kiss.

This came after Asha accused Nina of reporting paramedic Isla (Emily Dowson) to her bosses for having an ‘inappropriate interest’ in Asha, saying that she was jealous. Aadi had had a row with Amy, and while consoling each other, Aadi and Nina kissed.

Although they both agreed to never mention the kiss again and knew it had been a mistake, Aadi was later forced to own up to Asha about what happened.

So in a future episode, when Asha tells him that Nina has moved out, he blames himself.

It turns out that Asha, too, is harbouring a guilty secret. As she helps her brother pack up his flat he finds a bracelet on the floor – the one he gave Asha for her birthday. He can’t work out how it got there.

Viewers know that Asha called round to confront Aadi about Nina, and when she got there he was asleep on the sofa. In a fury she threw the bracelet at him and stormed out.

Now realising that her brother wasn’t asleep but unconscious, Asha feels hugely guilty. Will she own up about leaving him to die?
