There are emotional goodbyes for the residents of Emmerdale, as Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) heads away for her new life in Canada.

But the farewell is not without its drama, as she ends up in a row with best friend Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry).

Not only that, but as Vanessa’s relationship with Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) crumbles, is there no chance of a happy ending?

Elsewhere, Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) is determined to find out what is going on and, while Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) thinks that he has covered the truth, Matty is not letting this one drop.

And there is another couple on the rocks elsewhere in the village as David Metcalfe’s (Matthew Wolfenden) actions lead to Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) ending things for good.

Sunday November 27

Victoria is left absolutely furious when David tells her about the speeding ticket in her name. She threatens to go to the police herself if David doesn’t clear up his own mess.

In an interview room, David hopes he’s said enough as he pleads his case to the investigating Police Officer.

Over in the Hide, Ryan, Bear and Marlon are all taken aback when Victoria tells them about David’s betrayal.

David arrives to tell her the news but Victoria looks like she’s at the end of her tether.

Later, David finds Victoria moving her things out of the house, leaving him crushed when she reveals that it’s over between them. 

Rhona has a big decision to make about buying Jamie’s share of the veterinary business.

Time runs out when Kim arrives, demanding an answer. Soon, Vanessa is left unimpressed when Rhona tells her about buying Jamie’s share and things get heated as Rhona reveals the conditions of the new contract and an angry Vanessa tells her she’s accepting a job in Canada.

Tipsy and furious, Vanessa and Rhona continue to argue. They hit rock bottom when they both bring up things better left in the past.

Marlon’s left overwhelmed when Ryan offers him a job at the Woolpack.

Leyla tries to take in the fact her marriage is over, when Liam says they should get a divorce.

Tuesday November 29

Bernice is flustered and at the salon, Bear makes an ill-advised joke towards Bernice. Offended, Bernice goes to squirt Bear with the hose. Unfortunately, she hits Mandy’s new potential client instead.

Bernice, Mandy and Bear look on in horror as Bernice switches the water off that’s soaked the care home manager.

Bernice finds it hard to control her emotions and storms out, leaving Mandy and Bear bemused. Later, Bob consoles Bernice as she opens up about how she’s been feeling.

Vanessa nurses a mighty hangover and with Suzy missing, Vanessa’s anxieties surrounding her absence begin to resurface.

Vanessa’s stunned to find Suzy giggling with Leyla amongst a mass of cake, tissue and tears.

Assuming they’ve both started using again, Vanessa’s furious by the betrayal. Suzy tires of setting a stubborn Vanessa straight. When Leyla provides evidence of their sobriety, Vanessa’s mortified to have jumped to such a conclusion.

Soon Vanessa and Suzy are left heartbroken as they come to terms with the fact their relationship is over. 

Everybody is surprised when Chloe reveals to the cafe that she’s pregnant.

Wendy offers Victoria a key to Dale View as Victoria tries to convince herself that she’s doing the right thing. Later, David heads out to try and win Victoria back.

Wednesday November 30

Matty is determined to find out the truth about Amy and Moira and is determined to get to the bottom of Cain’s reasoning for killing Al, despite Chas’ attempts to divert his attention.

Chas is left freaking out when Matty reveals he’s got a visiting order to see Cain. In the Prison Visitors Room, Matty lays out his case to Cain but is instantly shot down.

As Cain leaves, he’s relieved to have put Matty’s suspicions to bed but Matty doesn’t believe a word that he has said…

At the pub, everyone cheers as Vanessa arrives at her farewell party. They’re shocked to learn that Suzy won’t be joining her. Vanessa bursts into tears at the realisation things are over.

Everyone says their emotional goodbyes to Vanessa as she puts the last of her things in the taxi…

Bob urges Bernice to make an appointment with the doctor regarding her recent behaviour but he’s concerned when she begins to cry. Bernice writes a list of her symptoms.

Gabby accidentally plants the seed that convinces Bernice that she has dementia and she’s instantly in denial when Laurel explains it’s most likely the menopause.

Later, she slams out angry when Liam reveals that she doesn’t have dementia, but is most likely going through the menopause. 

David’s annoyed to see Bear working in the Shop. Pollard explains that he’s the new delivery driver, much to David’s ire. When David starts to break down in front of Bear, he offers some wise words of advice.

As Bear leaves, David suddenly has a light-bulb moment. Leyla and Pollard arrive at the shop to see it decked out in Christmas decorations. They’re concerned that David is putting himself in more debt for the wrong reasons.

Dawn’s overjoyed to learn that Alex has signed a private consent form. Kim and Will share a knowing look.

Later, Kim reveals her plans to Will about opening up a stud farm. After some positive feedback, Kim offers Gabby an opportunity to work at Home Farm.
