The UK’s death toll from coronavirus has risen to 44,236 after another 16 people died.

Figures for all settings were released by the Department for Health today. It comes after 15 deaths were reported in hospitals by NHS England.

There were no new fatalities reported in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor is considering plans to give all Brits hundreds of pounds in vouchers to spend in businesses hit by the coronavirus crisis, according to reports.
