Iskra Lawrence has revealed her baby had to be resuscitated during birth and called the newborn a ‘miracle’.
The British model gave birth to her first child with boyfriend Philip Payne last week and shared the first photos of the tot on Instagram on Thursday.
The 29-year-old explained in the caption that she went through ‘unmedicated labour’ and that her baby had to be revived by a midwife during delivery.
Revealing only the initials of their baby, Iskra wrote: ‘A.M.P joined team Payne April 16th at 1.05pm here at home.
‘Our first draft pick, but really we are the ones who are so grateful that you picked us to be your parents.’
She went on: ‘After 24 hours of unmedicated active labour and 2.5 hours of transition our midwife saved your life by resuscitation, you truly are our miracle and I will be grateful every single day for you.
‘Your story is just beginning I can’t even imagine the impact you’ll have in this world and the dreams you will create.’
Iskra added: ‘This has been the best week of my life getting to know you and fall more in love each day.
‘Thank you @philipapayne you’ve shattered any expectation I had of you as a father already I am so proud you’re my partner and I’m holding back tears writing this and every time I look at you with our baby. Love you and love our family unconditionally.’
The Instagram model shared a snap of herself and Philip kissing their newborn, as well as of their baby posing on a helmet from Philip’s American football team, the Texas Longhorns.
Iskra announced her birth on Instagram on Sunday, confirming that ‘baby P has arrived’ and that she and Philip ‘are taking time to be in awe that we are now a family of three.’
She added: ‘During quarantine I made lots of content I’m still excited to share and knew that when baby arrived I’d want to take time off, so I have scheduled some YouTube videos like the one today about all my fave maternity dresses so you can have some glam options during pregnancy.
‘And I’ll be uploading 2 baking videos too including my official banoffee pie that you’ve been asking about hehe.’
It comes after Iskra shared that she was several days overdue to give birth.
The plus-size model announced her pregnancy at four months in November last year with a sweet series of Instagram pictures.
