Paul Pogba has dismissed reports of a bust-up with Romelu Lukaku after Manchester United’s win over Southampton at the weekend.
It has been claimed that Lukaku confronted Pogba in the dressing room at Old Trafford after the French midfielder decided to take a penalty in extra time.
Lukaku was on a hat-trick after finding the net twice in the 3-2 victory over Southampton but Pogba’s decision to take the penalty – which he subsequently missed – denied the Belgian the chance to score his first treble for the club.
The report claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was forced to calm the argument in the dressing room and was able to calm the tension between the two players.
Lukaku has already appeared to dismiss the reports with a cryptic post on Twitter which read: ‘When the hate don’t work they start telling lies…’
And Pogba followed up Lukaku’s message by responding to the Belgian striker with: ‘Hahahahaha people are too funny bro.’
Pogba is suspended for United’s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening but the French midfielder trained with the team in the French capital on Tuesday.
