It seems as if Stacey Solomon thinks The X Factor should drop long-standing judge Louis Walsh from the panel after calling him ‘the show mascot’.

Louis has been in all but one season of the ITV’s singing competition, but now Stacey – who was a finalist in 2009 – wants to see music superstars joining the judging panel when the show returns this summer.

Writing in her column for The Sun, the 28-year-old said: ‘Have you ever watched The Voice USA? They have mega-stars like Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, and Usher on the panel.

‘Alicia Keys is there dishing out advice, for goodness sake! It’s amazing.’

Referring to Louis she said: ‘Simon Cowell needs to get on the phone to his showbiz mates, because imagine if The X Factor had judges like that? It would be so cool.

‘Don’t get me wrong, I love Louis Walsh. He always has the best gossip and never takes himself too seriously. But he’s almost become the show mascot.’

The mum-of-two carried on to say that her fantasy line-up would be Simon Cowell, Cheryl, Craig David and, urm, Beyonce.

But why Queen Bey exactly?

She explained: ‘Let’s face it, she’s an empowering, inspiring woman who’s a phenomenal recording artist, and I’ve never experienced a live concert like hers.’

The Loose Women panellist rose to fame on the sixth series of The X Factor, coming third overall on the show and later went on to win I’m Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2010.

Although Stacey started off as a singer she is now a known more for being a television personality.

In September 2016, she began appearing as a panellist on Loose Women after appearing several times as a guest panelist on the ITV daytime show.
