The Queen will host a reception for famous Americans at Buckingham Palace tonight, ahead of her tour to the US.
Comedienne Ruby Wax, model Jerry Hall and Bond film producer Barbara Broccoli will be among the 400 guests at the event.
Actor John Barrowman, who plays Captain Jack Harkness in the Doctor Who spin-off show Torchwood, will also be there.
Other British-based Americans invited to the Queen’s home include pollster Sir Bob Worcester, comic Rich Hall, conductor Carl Davis and radio presenter Paul Gambaccini.
On show will be an exhibition devoted to photographs of the Queen with the American Presidents she has encountered during her reign.
There have been 11 Presidents in power during her reign so far and the Queen has met all of them. The images range from President Truman to the current President George W Bush.
