Summary of Functions The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shipping department’s staff to ensure all product are prepared, shipped and received on time while complying with company policies and procedures.
The Shipping Supervisor will be the liaison between the shipping department and management team members and will report on shipping activities and issues.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Oversees shipping dock and scale house operations for all inbound and outbound shipments Ensure documentation (shipping packets, movement logs, container inventory log, etc.
) are being completed properly and submitted in a timely manner Inspect all inbound and outbound containers to ensure they meet sanitation standards and are free of damage Inspect all loads to ensure product meets company standards prior to shipping Monitoring departmental costs, suggest and implement cost saving ideas Maintaining workflow by monitoring steps of process, setting goals, observing employee work habits and equipment Establish priorities of workload, monitoring progress, revise scheduling, resolve problems Provide information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing performance records & data Develop, revise, and implement system flow and reporting procedures by analyzing practices and record-keeping Provide clear communication between management and staff Ensure safety and productivity of all employees by enforcing company policies and procedures Monitor and appraise employee job performance and coach, counsel and discipline employees as needed Train new employees and ensure employees have all the tools necessary to be successful Ensure security of facilities during designated shift hours Document and report incidents, injuries, and employee notices Maintain a clean and safe workplace Participate in open discussions with team members on problem solving Communicate daily with co-workers, leads, supervisors and management for daily objectives and goals Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities Understand and follow all GMPs, Food Safety, and General Safety rules and regulations Qualifications High degree of attention to employee productivity Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a team environment Highly organized and detailed oriented Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills Education level: High School Diploma Basic computer skills Program knowledge: Willing to learn specific job-related software Certified Forklift Operator or ability to be Forklift Certified Certified Weighmaster or ability to be Weighmaster Certified Work Environment Exposure to loud noise, populated work areas, salt, dust and other ingredients or odors Exposure to varying temperatures, depending on season Exposure to long periods of sun light depending on operations Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full time at-will position, and work hours are typically Monday through Friday with varying shifts.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as department needs demand.
