Marla Fibish San Francisco, California
A San Francisco native, Marla is one of the prominent voices of the mandolin in Irish music. She brings a deep and distinctive sensibility to the tradition on one of its lesser-heard instruments. Absolutely love that deep concertina sound. And the range of expression that Cormac brings out through this instrument, well beyond the intentions of the designers or makers of these instruments. And, feel sorry for his poor bellows and reeds. He has to do a lot of personal repair on them. Cormac's album design and presentation are beautiful works of art as well. See him in concert if you can. You can really feel those bass notes resonate through a hall.

Hi Paraic I love this album. It’s the best banjo album I have listened to IMHO up there with Cathal Hayden’s first album. I am a banjo player from Manchester UK and I came across your playing when I found the video of you and cormac begley playing three reels (you tube) Your banjo sound and rhythm so powerful and i didn’t realise you could get such a tone tuning it down to what I think is EBF#C#??? How did you come across such a tuning or was it to play in tune with the other instruments? Mike
