♟️Goals Achieved and Dream Almost Realized!🇸🇦🇲🇦 I had the honor of being part of the Saudi delegation at the Arab Youth Chess Championships 2024 as Basil Alsalman's coach, representing Saudi Arabia in the tournament. This was Basil's first official classical chess tournament, having only played Blitz and Rapid before. In my discussions with Mr. Ahmed, Basil's father, before the tournament and after months of training, our goal was to gain experience and achieve an honorable result in his first participation, aiming for 4.5/9 as an initial target. Basil, masha'Allah, exceeded expectations and was competing for the runner-up title in the U10 category in the final round on Board 2. While he lost the last round in a winning position due to not being able to control his emotions, it's something even elite players experience. This journey will undoubtedly make him stronger for the future. We are thrilled to announce that our Chess Academy received certificates today from both FIDE (the International Chess Federation) and GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for our 2nd Annual Blitz Chess Marathon. The event was organized to break the World Record for the most official chess games played in 24 hours. Our blitz marathon consisted of 23 rounds, a historic achievement for Morocco. During this intense competition, we played over 2900 official games per day. While FIDE’s initial goal was to break the record of 1 million games per day worldwide, the Chess Community surpassed all expectations by achieving a staggering total of +7.2 million official chess games per day. This remarkable accomplishment highlights the growing popularity of chess!
