Oddly enough, often it's the SUBJECTIVE metrics that lead to failure – for example, a person not vibing well with the rest of the team rather than not performing well. ➢ Here's what you can ask your potential hire to find out if they are truly passionate about what they do, and have higher chances of being a cultural fit for your company: 1. Who do you follow in your industry that inspires you?  2. If you could have a conversation with any historical figure or industry pioneer, who would it be, and what would you ask them? 3. Thanks for some cool insights on building an HR strategy – perhaps the main thing is that ➢ NO, you DON'T need to hire an HR when you're at 10-20 people More so, the need for a dedicated "people person" only comes up when there are a lot of new hires down the road – 20+ people that will have to be sources, interviewed, hired, and, most importantly, properly onboarded. A couple of Qs I would add from my experience of interviewing 50+ candidates for various roles – from a technical cofounder to BD to senior executives: 1. What has been your biggest failure as a manager? What lessons did you take out of it? ➢ See if the person takes the blame or puts the blame on the team. 2. [For managerial positions] Are you open to being hands-on if there is a high volume of tasks? ➢ Personally, I prefer to work with people who are not afraid to work with their hands. A true leader leads the team and does not simply manage it. 3. Who would you ask for advice if the challenge you're facing cannot be assisted with by the internal team members? ➢  It's ALWAYS a huge plus if the person you're looking to hire has mentors and external sources of truth. This way your issues can be solved with a much more creative and potentially effective approach. You might be getting wisdom of the crowd by hiring a single capable person. P.S. 💪 Today is Demo Day of Generation H, an initiative for health tech companies supported by Tokarev Foundation Ukraine. Four months ago, Tokarev Foundation Ukraine and SET University launched Generation H, an acceleration program that prepares Ukrainian health tech companies to become investor-ready. But the program is so much more than that. It tackles some of Ukraine's most pressing healthcare challenges, from mental and reproductive health to advanced medical care. For me, it’s not just about innovation. It's about driving meaningful impact for communities impacted by the war and global challenges. As someone deeply invested in health and wellness, I believe that modern healthcare solutions must redefine systems rather than just treat symptoms. Generation H is an example of this. It brings together tech innovators, healthcare professionals, and entrepreneurs. Together, they work and share a commitment to improve people's lives. Since I've started QikBuild - I had plenty of conversations with potential clients - startups some of them successfully closed, some of them not :( When startup founders think about using no-code development to build their idea, usually there are 3 main concerns: 1. It's just for an MVP, after that we can't use no-code as we won't be able to implement our post-MVP features. That is the most common myth in no-code development, because 90% of the startups/apps are just a combination of CRUDs, non-rocket-science backend logic 🚀 , some nice UI and interactive dashboards, few(or a lot of) integrations and some data processing/aggregation. This applies for most SaaS, marketplaces, directories, CRMs, internal tools, AI apps 🤖 (usually AI is one of the integrations) etc. 2. How do we scale to millions of users 📈 ? Performance is a big concern. It's true that no-code is not the ideal choice if your app has millions of daily active users. But by the time you need to worry about that, it's probable that you'll have a lot of resources to gradually switch to more appropriate tech-stack. So, don't stress too much about growth just yet—no-code can scale with you for quite a while. And if the app is done properly, you can scale to millions of users even with the no-code stack 3. Eventually Switching to Code? Thinking about having to switch to full-code in the future can be intimidating. But it's good to remember that this usually happens later rather than sooner. And when it does, you might only need to change parts of your app, not everything. This way, you keep the easier parts on no-code and only update what's absolutely necessary. 🔄 🚀 Takeaway: No-code is a smart option for many startups. It lets you start fast, make changes easily, and grow without getting too caught up in technical stuff right away.

❌ Fundraising Evolution: (Critical) Trends in Startup Fundraising in 2024 ❌ As the month comes to an end, so does the first fundraising period of the year. After weeks of intensive effort, many players are heading into their summer break. We, too, can look back on a successful first half of the year, noting not only quantitative but also qualitative improvements in our deal flow. Here are three (critical) trends that have caught my attention: 🚩 Notion Instead of Pitch Deck Some founders choose to skip a traditional pitch deck entirely when pre-seed fundraising, opting instead for a notion page that combines a data room with a pitch deck. While the benefits of flexible updates over a static document are obvious, I think it lacks personalization and impact. Much of the valuable information in a pitch deck is conveyed between the lines. 💡 My Tip: Create a small Notion data room together with a short teaser deck for the perfect information basis. 🚩 Variable Round Setup More frequently, fundraising starts without a clear target. Instead, all options are considered throughout the round, adapting based on circumstances and feedback before settling on the most suitable setup. While this flexibility has advantages, I believe every team needs clear goals within a well-defined framework to attract the right partners. 💡 My Tip: Establish a clear framework with a structured timeline to target investors effectively. 🚩 Fundraising as a Team Effort At most of my meetings in recent months, I have always met the entire founding team. From a resource allocation perspective, this is disastrous. It is important to get to know all the key players in a start-up, but all it takes is one in-depth conversation. Otherwise, valuable resources are wasted in the large number of fundraising meetings with various investors. 💡 My Tip: The CEO should centrally manage fundraising. This includes initial meetings, email communications, reference calls and closing. Involve your co-founders only in a detailed deep dive and use their resources more strategically. It's time to catch up on Viropay's progress - things are moving quickly. These past weeks have been intense. Being part of Startupbootcamp's accelerator program has been both exhilarating and demanding. The pressure is increasing with demo day approaching on June 20th, we're pitching at TNW! It's all about showing off our MVP (minimal viable product), which is the first rough version of our product, to showcase Viropay to potential clients and investors. Normally, a ''demo'' can be put together in weeks, but we're processing financial data which changes that quick and dirty approach. Meeting security standards means our process takes longer. Either way, the team works around the clock to get it done. I will post more often to showcase the process of building a demo and our path towards the big day on June 20th. Now, back to work 👋
