His role is key in the runup to opening in ensuring everything runs smoothly to the highest standards.   Originally from France, he has been working for the hospitality industry in Luxembourg for 7 years, with a deep commitment to the field, his career journey has been shaped by his passion for the service industry and his continuous pursuit of excellence. Stéphane enjoys interacting with his colleagues and the opportunity to create positive experiences for guests. In our series of introducing our preopening team, this week we would like to present to you Cristina Fuentes, our Director of Human Resources. With 17 years of experience at Marriott, she brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to creating a positive and supportive work environment for our team. Originally from Luxembourg, she found her home in Belgium where she studied a Bachelor in hotel management and started her journey working for the Marriott International brand portfolio.   As Director of HR, she plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and development of our team. Cristina is committed to creating an environment where associates feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow in their careers. Continuing our series on key members of the team, this week we go “behind the scenes” to introduce Cabon Virginie, our Executive Housekeeper.   Virginie’s journey with Marriott began 11 years ago and has been one of growth and achievement, driven by her passion, unwavering dedication, and attention to detail. She lives by the mantra, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” a powerful reminder that challenges can also be opportunities for growth, both personally and professionally.   When asked what makes her proud of her work, Virginie points out, without hesitation, the happiness she derives from meeting people and ensuring every guest leaves with a smile. Born and raised in beautiful Brittany, Virginie’s love of travel stems from spending part of her childhood in French Polynesia. As we continue to welcome new joiners in the pre-opening team next up we are honored to introduce to you our Front Office Manager, Hugo Abreu. Hugo is originally from the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro and feels naturally at home in Luxembourg with its mix of cosmopolitan energy, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. Working in the Hospitality industry for over 10 years, he joins us from the Marriott Hotel in Cologne where he has honed his expertise in delivering Wonderful Hospitality. Always. He leads with purpose and positivity, guided by his life motto - “Strive to be the best version of yourself daily”. For him, every day brings opportunities to learn new skills, and with his natural talent for languages, he ensures that guests feel welcome wherever they are from, Europe or beyond. When he’s not working, Hugo enjoys hunting out his favorite Brazilian dish feijoada. He also enjoys playing the piano, a hobby that has become both a relaxing and challenging pursuit, offering him a sense of balance in his busy life. The team continues to take shape, and we are thrilled to introduce another key leader– Pierre Dorrell, our experienced Director of Sales and Marketing. He brings a deep passion for both the art of hospitality and the excitement of new challenges including a previous tenure of 7 years with Marriott. Pierre's positive attitude and sense of humor make him a natural motivator for the team, inspiring them to reach new heights. He sees the Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa as more than just a building—it’s a story waiting to be told with every corner of the hotel, and every piece of its history as part of a larger narrative with each place evoking the memories of those who stayed and visited before as he says"History is everywhere, and the future is now". For Pierre, respect for people and surroundings are key to offering Wonderful Hospitality—something Marriott International exemplifies every day.   Outside of work, Pierre enjoys exploring new European cities and capturing moments through photography.
