Here is the question to B2B SaaS in the first place, however it might be for any B2B business, I guess. We at UXPressia WANT to talk to our customers to know their problems, challenges and other stuff we can help them with. It takes us from 1 to 7 emails to get them on the call. And they are not back and forth emails. They are mainly unanswered emails. We are happy when it is 1-2 emails, but when it goes to 3-4 or even 6-7 it is really frustrating. Some of them just don't reply at all (that might be another question). How are you dealing with that? How do you keep this number low?

What are the biggest fears of a decision-maker when choosing a new e-commerce platform? Before I answer this, let me explain why this is a personal matter. Most often, we talk about what a company needs to consider when making investments and decisions. But behind the company, there is always a person who carries the responsibility. Unfortunately, almost no one is rewarded for making the right choice and succeeding in the investment. But if you fail, at the very least, your reputation will suffer, or you might get fired. For this reason, fear drives the decision-maker more than opportunities. In my experience, the biggest fears are 👎 Cost overruns Underestimating the total cost of the platform, hidden expenses like customization, integration, and maintenance. No one wants to be surprised by costs. It is one of the most worrying failures: ”What if I have to go to my boss and ask for more money?”. 👎 Reputation risk Any significant platform failures—such as downtime, poor user experience, security breaches, or poor performance—harm the brand’s reputation. 👎 Resistance to change Internal resistance from employees or teams accustomed to the existing system 👎 Implementation failures The implementation or integrations could be too complex and delayed.  👎 Vendor lock-in Worries about being locked into long-term dependency on a single provider. 👎 Lack of customization, scalability and future-proofing Platform won’t offer enough customization or the platform can adapt to changing business needs, market conditions, or technology trends. These are the same fears, whatever investment I have. I know this because I have been in the role of buyer and also on the delivery side for over thirty years. After 2 years of declining new customer revenue and significant investment in our sales process, we had to face a hard truth. Here’s what we learned: The sales process looked great, but we were doing something wrong. The traditional way of selling software development services is dead. 3 years ago, having skilled developers was enough to win business. Companies were actively seeking development capacity. Today, despite having an exceptional team and a solid track record, we’ve seen our new customer acquisition drop significantly. Lesson 1: Throwing resources at scaling a broken process doesn't fix it. We invested heavily in our sales team and its tech stack, but the results didn't improve. Why? Because we were solving the wrong problem. We spent time perfecting a process that needed reinvention, not refinement. Lesson 2: The market has fundamentally shifted. Companies don’t just want developers anymore; they want partners who understand their business challenges and can provide comprehensive solutions, such as AI consultancy. Our existing customers grew with us because we deeply understood their needs, but our sales approach didn’t convey this value to new prospects. Lesson 3: Technical expertise needs to be part of the sales conversation from Day 1. We’re now involving our delivery team in customer discussions earlier, focusing on solving the business problems rather than just providing development resources. This shift alone has already shown promising results. Our most successful contracts recently started with solution-focused discussions, not staffing conversations. These realizations have led us to completely rethink our approach. We’re transitioning from a pure development services model to a consultative partnership model, where we: - Focus on understanding our customers' business challenges - Bring technical expertise into early conversations with prospects - Focus on both technical delivery and business outcomes The software development industry is changing rapidly, and those who don’t make the shift from service providers to strategic partners will struggle. The question isn’t whether to change, it’s how quickly you can make the shift.

Attracting new players is crucial as an affiliate, but what about keeping them around? 🧐 Typically, affiliates invest all their resources in driving new players but not in helping operators with retention. In my opinion, this is a missed opportunity. It will not only help boost your rev share deals but also help you build deeper relationships with operators. When loyal players return, they generate consistent income. The longer they stay, the more valuable they become. This is common sense. Here are just some ways that we can help operators improve retention: - Highlight those juicy retention bonuses and special offers for existing players - Create content that keeps players engaged and informed about new products or competitions. - Build deeper relationships with your audience so you can offer personalised recommendations Getting someone to walk through the door is great, but making them stay for a cup of coffee (or a few rounds of poker) is even better. Here’s a question for you to ponder: Are you focusing enough on player retention?
