1.
And so I try, to make do The simmering conscience chimes through The blue ticks, they mean shit Just cover it up all discreet No shouts, no calls, nothing at all to draw out We have words, they have none We'll say and yet, and yet is all that we can... Chalk it up, a smile is just a sigh Muted hours, through echo chamber lots Be gone, be gone! Away with the disparate trails Control, of course Forget what we know & search more Well I hope, we all hope They'll say and yet, & and yet is all that they can... Chalk it up, a smile is just a sigh Pile it up, the lie upon the lie upon the lie... We smile, we sigh We're still here, it's still there So we sit, digress, procrastinate, repeat We rest, digress, we ruminate, fade out.

Motions 02:55
Step into the office, with closed minds and sealed lips Arms on the ladder and a thick skin to boost Fresh eyes only, and if you're out that means you're out Did not notice the truth or the tears or the hard, hard fought years Years keep clocking, new eyes set-in Let's right these wrongs - the time was coming for all We try levelling the set-up, dose one for the get-up, question what really matters - but who knows? We all sleep with the sickness, weighed down with the weakness, share away all the damage, and our woes He stands out with the courage, she shines bright with the meaning, these words lack any feeling, and it shows We rise up with a motion, join the choir with a passion, scream "who here's with me?", and it goes: 'All upstanding, no withstanding, understand this: you win, we lose - you lose, we lose' You should try it, you go first. I'm right behind you All we are is all a part of all that they've become.

Take A Seat 04:04
I'll make it stick, for this sacred hour Offload the waste and just dispense (they say) We have the hearts inside, bruised but still intact We'll settle all the scores, until there's no-one left My mind... So take a seat, and read this room The first is the next and then the next and then the next... Deep crushing, sincere pushing Bring it back & don't forget to set the table We've got: soul-minds I'll make a scene, to dance around recycled anecdotals (She said) the many, different ways a heart can take such life, is only what we keep brushed aside with time My mind... Less pressure, well that's our time Exchange the platitudes and carry on as were Fresh faces, new set paces Wipe 'em back & please take your place at our table We've all got: soul-minds - that's where our veiled place is left So take a seat, this one's on us.

about

Human Worth are pumped to present the new EP from Sussex-by-the-sea's Lower Slaughter, who unexpectedly return after an extended hiatus, with a new line-up & all-new music!

The first offering under their new guise is the two-track EP ‘All The Day Long b/w Motions’, via their new home label at Human Worth – a glimpse into both where the band have found themselves in pastures now, and also what is to follow, with their upcoming third album already in the can and due for release later on in 2025!

Recorded live at their practice space with Mark Boniface (Harker) in early Spring 2024 (mere days before their return to live action), their new 7” EP is a snappy, raging and confident welcome back, that doesn’t hold back by any means, excitedly kicking the door open again after being away far too long, and capturing the raw energy of their reputable live shows!

The four piece once described themselves modestly as a band “who make loud riffs” though The Quietus description of “lurching noise-rock that occasionally works the angles but is chiefly a showpiece for big fuck-off riffs that call to mind Pissed Jeans, Nirvana and Harvey Milk” may be more accurate, and still holds true now.

Human Worth have pressed up a super limited run of 7" vinyl, featuring the stunning artwork of JOHN vocalist and sticksman John Henry Newton, with a portion of all proceeds donated to charity CALM – offering help, advice and information to anyone who is struggling or in crisis.
