Please stop those MERN stack hen stack ten stack courses. For God sake, start programming and solve problems 🙏🙏🙏. Once you are good at problem solving, its just a matter of time for you to pick anything! A junior programming background kid out perform seniors. No one is willing to talk about it because firms need immediate worker to deliver client project. During my freelance career and client based work, we did plenty projects and less than 1% projects got some sorts of success. Development is one thing and running the system is entirely different thing. So many components and engineering required. If you want a handsome salary within 2 years, become a bad ass programmer 🧑‍💻!!

Scalability is an overused word in startups (often uttered by software engineers). Startups go through big changes. These changes come with code rewrites (refactoring more than 40% codebase is a nightmare you shouldn't wish on anyone). Writing scalable, extensible, high-test coverage code isn't worth the trouble here. You'll start seeing ghosts where none exist. Favoring iteration speed and adaptability is a better bet. Outsource, simplify and hack your way through! Cheers! P.S. In large organisations, the investment in extensible code makes sense. Hence the emphasis on low-level design.
