  • Yesterday, we announced the launch of the Bhoomi Youth Leadership Initiative (BYLI) in partnership with the Foundation for a Just Society. ✊Through BYLI, we invest in the leadership of historically oppressed communities in South Asia, particularly Indigenous, Dalit, caste-oppressed, queer, trans, and disabled young people, and ensure the impact of their visionary work reaches a regional and global audience. 🍀 Join us as we embark on a journey to promote peer-to-peer learning—sharing powerful stories and dreams, weaving a tapestry of leadership that celebrates the unique strengths of these historically marginalized communities. ✨ Discover more about our inspiring initiative at www.bhoomileadership.org

    • The central element is a quote in white letters from Women’s Fund Asia: “As a regional feminist fund, WFA is committed to investing in leadership and voices of young people (especially women, girls, trans and intersex persons) experiencing multiple levels of discrimination. In South Asia, caste-based discrimination manifests in all forms of everyday life and the rights of caste oppressed communities are often violated and invisibilized. However, South Asia is also home to powerful social and people's movements and in the last few years, young people (especially from marginalized/oppressed communities) have been leading the fight for progressive change, justice and accountability. This partnership between WFA and FJS is critical as it is centered around these very voices, visions, and dreams for a just and equitable future.” The words “Women’s Fund Asia” appear centered at the bottom of the slide in yellow letters.
    • The central element is a quote in white letters from Prachi Patankar of Foundation for a Just Society: "The history of caste oppression is long and violent. Today, young women and queer people from Dalit and oppressed-caste groups in South Asia are disrupting and re-writing that history by becoming leaders in their communities and demanding caste equity. This is a beautiful and powerful moment that urgently needs funders' attention and support. That's why FJS and WFA launched the Bhoomi Youth Leadership Initiative, bringing together eleven rising community leaders from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Pakistan to share their experiences and build a foundation together for future collaborations." Beneath the quote is Prachi Patankar’s name in yellow letters, and beneath her name, Foundation for a Just Society, also in yellow letters.

These elements include a moon, a campfire, leaves, and a hand-drawn style. • 🛎 Launch Announcement! 🛎 Together with the Foundation for a Just Society, we are proud to announce the Bhoomi Youth Leadership Initiative (BYLI). 🌿 BYLI is a capacity-strengthening initiative that seeks to develop and strengthen the leadership skills among young people in South Asia’s most historically oppressed groups, particularly Indigenous, Dalit, caste-oppressed, queer, trans, and disabled young people. ✨ Follow the journey of 11 courageous leaders here: www.bhoomileadership.org

    • The central image shows two South Asian women with raised fists wearing colorful kurtas stepping through an open window into a lush landscape. In this scene, there are other South Asian women and nonbinary people, including one person sitting under a banyan tree holding a sign that reads “Cast out caste,” two people standing near the tree holding a Progress Pride flag with the words “Satrangi Salam,” and three people sitting on the ground with raised fists (including one holding a raised cane). White logos of Foundation for a Just Society and Women’s Fund Asia appear above the central image on a blue background. The words “Bhoomi Youth Leadership Initiative, 2024-2025” appear in light blue letters on a darker blue background at the bottom of the slide. The subtitle is “Creating spaces, Raising voices, Shaping the future”.
  • 🌻 WFA acknowledges the complex and interconnected nature of a polycrisis, where multiple risks interact to create compounded impacts. We also recognise that crises have a profound impact on movement-building and ensuring safer spaces to express ourselves and the feminist agenda for change. ✊ Join us in this year's #16DaysofActivism in highlighting the voices of activists and groups on how flexible funding has helped them cope with the impacts of various crises and bolster their resilience in dealing with unforeseen challenges. #FeministFunding #ResourceJustice #FundResilience #FundFeministMovements —————————— Image Description: The image showcases a text-based graphic design set against a light teal background, featuring an illustration of a forest and mountain landscape.
