The Department of Computer Science at the University of Hannover is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor Faculty Position to start in summer 2003. The Department seeks a faculty member with theoretical and practical expertise in Semantic Web Technologies and related areas, including web based teaching and learning, knowledge management, knowledge representation, web services or peer-to-peer systems. We invite outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. degree in computer science (no longer than 5 years ago) and a strong record of accomplishments to apply. Applicants should have a strong publication record, experience in the acquisition of third party funded research projects, as well as teaching experience. The successful candidate will strengthen and extend the research program pursued at the Information Systems Institute and the Learning Lab Lower Saxony, participate in graduate teaching, and supervise Ph.D. students. The position shall qualify applicants for appointment as associate / full professor, salary will be paid according to W1, with a contract for three years, extendable to three more years.
