This November for Lung Cancer Awareness Month, thoracic oncologist Dr. Amy Cummings, director of the Office of Cancer Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, reminds the community that lung cancer screening saves lives. For Yudy Machado, getting screened helped her catch lung cancer at stage 1. Yudy is now cancer-free and "absolutely recommends screening." “Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer-related death,” says Dr. Cummings. "One out of four lung cancer cases involve someone who has never smoked." Learn more: https://ucla.in/3V666kS
