Why does the job exist?
The Child Legal Support Assistant II will:
Process the most complex child support establishment and enforcement cases;
Serve as a Lead Worker.
How does it get done?
The Child Legal Support Assistant II is responsible for:
Preparing the most complex financial case calculations;
Appearing with Department Attorneys in Court;
Assisting CSSD field office managers with training of staff.
Who are the customers?
Parties of child support cases;
Child Support Legal Assistant I;
Child Support Enforcement Division (CSSD) management;
Child Support Enforcement Division (CSSD) Attorneys.
Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate has experience:
Preparing complex casework and/or financial calculations;
Reviewing unresolved cases regarding establishment of child support eligibility and/or enforcement of court or negotiated orders;
Preparing petitions and motions for court hearings and legal documents.
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or GED and sic (6) years of experience in legal research or legal document preparation, accounting, finance or social, health or human service program development or delivery and/or clerical experience in a Child Support Office may substitute for education on a month-for-month basis.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Office setting, exposure to VDT, extensive personal computer and phone usage.
Some travel may be required.
May need to testify in court hearings.
