I am Park Dae-Soo, Team Leader of the Plant & Marine Sales Team at Hyosung Heavy Industries' Industrial Machinery PU. I am responsible for sales of marine products, naval vessels, and propulsion motors and gearboxes for guided missiles. Q. Could you tell us about your major achievements at Hyosung Heavy Industries? In 2010, we secured the defense industry’s propulsion reduction gear, which led to Hyosung Heavy Industries being designated as a key defense contractor. Since then, we have continued to win orders and sell products for naval vessels. In 2020, we also secured the Hybrid Propulsion System, SGM, which was a significant achievement for both the company and me personally. Q. What drives you to continue your career? The support and encouragement from my family and colleagues are the biggest sources of strength for me. The time I spend having conversations with my team members during lunch is also the happiest part of my day. Q. What do you think it means to be good at your job? I believe that being good at your job means communicating with colleagues to address your weaknesses and actively working towards becoming an expert in your field. As South Africa accelerates its transition to renewable energy, Hyosung's BESS technology contributes to enhancing the flexibility of the transmission and distribution grid, supporting South Africa's commitment to sustainable energy solutions. 🎤 Hyosung Hydrogen Completed Hydrogen Charging Station in Gwangyang On October 7, Hyosung Hydrogen held an opening ceremony for South Jeolla Province’s first liquid hydrogen charging station in Gwangyang, South Korea. This facility marks Hyosung Hydrogen's first liquid hydrogen charging station and has the capacity to fuel over 150 hydrogen buses per day. 🎤 Hyosung Provides 4,000 Safety Vests to Partner Companies Hyosung Heavy Industries and other Hyosung affiliates recently provided 4,000 safety vests to over 200 partner companies at construction sites and regional operations. In addition to this support, Hyosung actively promotes safety management for its subcontracting partners through diverse initiatives, including establishing safety and health management guidelines, conducting safety and health evaluations, and implementing a safety and health mentoring program.   🎤 Visit from the Dutch Ambassador to Hyosung Heavy Industries Headquarters The Dutch Ambassador to Korea and the Director of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency visited the headquarters of Hyosung Heavy Industries to discuss cooperation plans with the management. This month’s Hyosung Heavy Industries superstar is Jae-Hun Jeong, the Head of Electrical Panel Division who has been with the company since 1997. He is currently responsible for the electrical panel division at the Changwon plant. Let’s take a look at his journey at Hyosung Heavy Industries! 🌟   Q. Could you briefly introduce yourself? I am Jae-Hun Jeong, working in the electrical panel division of the Power PU at Hyosung Heavy Industries in the Changwon plant. Specifically, I manage the panel factory that produces distribution-level products, including CGIS, MV and LV switchgears, as well as manufacturing PCS (Power Conversion Systems) and welding machines. Since 1997, I have been working here and growing together with the company. It has already been 27 years.   Q. What is your daily goal? The goal can be described as an expression “Honey catches more flies than vinegar”. I am also trying to being feel happy. With this in mind, I aim to teach and guide others with warm words while constantly reminding myself of these principles. Additionally, I make an effort to find happiness in the little things each day.   Q. Can you define doing work well?  I believe there’s no such thing as a perfect person. It’s not so important what work you're doing, but rather, it’s about putting your ‘sincerity’ into it. When you work with dedication, the results tend to be good. Whether it’s a big task or a small one, working with sincerity is the first step to being good at your job.   Q. Despite the tough times, what has been the driving force that keeps you going? There have been difficult moments every year. There’s a passage from Vegetable Roots Discourse (wisdom from Ming China on life and living) that I think of when things get tough: 'When a person is in adversity, the surrounding environment may seem unfavorable. However, this environment has the power and medicine to heal your body and mind. Just as medicine tastes bitter, adversity may temporarily be painful, but if you endure and manage it, you will gain much benefit.' This has been my guiding thought during challenging times.   Q. Is there something you’re focusing on outside of work? After so many years in the company, I feel like I’ve lost touch with who I really am. So lately, I’m trying to rediscover what I’m good at and what I genuinely enjoy.   Q. What is the happiest moment of your day? These days, my happiest moments are when I go for walks with my wife. Now that the kids have moved out, it’s just the two of us spending time together and talking about various things.
