About

I am passionate about climate education. Climate change is one of the most impactful phenomena that is poised to affect the world presently and in the future. Evidence of this is visible from the multiple droughts, wildfires, heatwaves and floods that have hit different parts of the world. This is accompanied by socioeconomic effects that affect the human world. Yet with this exists powerful opportunities for change for the better, as exemplified by the growth of renewable energy, ecosystem restoration and climate smart agriculture to name a few. My purpose is to educate and inform about climate change in clear, precise, frank and hopeful terms, because information is power; and this power can be wielded positively to change the current way of life to a low carbon pathway. I possess a wealth of knowledge from my Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and combine this with my naturally talented and gifted writer's pen to birth and bring forth compelling pieces of writing, set forth in a clear and simple manner, in order to agitate and instigate the change we so yearn for. My blog africanclimes.blogspot.com is where I make the case for climate action, with tens of articles published about the subject over the years. Drop by for simple, easy and informative articles on climate change.

The aim of this blog is to educate people concerning climate change and climate action. Climate change is a not only a challenge for the human and natural world, but it is also full of opportunities to pivot from high carbon development to a low carbon way of life, from brown to green. This will benefit both future and present generations. In order for this to happen, there must be clear, factual and simple information, which forms the basis for action. This is the purpose of the blog.

It is also here that i saw a real example of how businesses can benefit from climate action.
Under the tutelage of the department head, i also deepened my understanding of climate change agreements and laws as well as how they work.

This was where the foundation of my interest in climate change was laid. Under the broad curriculum, i learnt about how inherently, we are part of the environment and depend on it for survival. As such it is imperative to take care of it. Units such as Earth Science and Atmospheric Science helped me understand the workings of natural systems while units like energy and the environment and environmental health taught me about effects of human interaction with the environment. As such it is imperative to take care of it. Units such as Earth Science and Atmospheric Science helped me understand the workings of natural systems while units like energy and the environment and environmental health taught me about effects of human interaction with the environment. Units such as biodiversity and environmental ethics instilled in me the need to weigh my actions in terms of effects on other actors such as wildlife and the physical environment.
All of these units made me conscious of the threat of climate change and how it affects us as well as the benefits that lie in climate action.
